I know this sounds dumb, but I've always been a real casual player. So I really don't scout or anything, Can I elect not to join an elite league if I have a good season? If not, I think it should be added.

I %100 disagree with this. A good team could game the system and elect to not join elite, and win the trophy in lower leagues. It is also not fair to the teams that did not make elite, that they would then be playing against top 12 teams. The main reason behind the elite leagues is to get similar strength teams into the same leagues. If a top 12 team opts out, that defeats the purpose.

If you really want to get in a lower league, then you can purposely lose the last few ladder games, I guess, to drop you out of top 12.

I strongly disagree with this as well. If your team is good enough to win enough and earn an Elite League spot...that is where your team needs to be. It makes it unfair for the lower leagues that you are then gonna sit in and win with no effort then. Not fair to them.

It's only for one season and then you will drop back into a normal league if you don't do well. It's no different than getting stuck in a tough league randomly and having to deal with it. If you don't feel like you can be competitive in the Elite's then use that season for testing/trying different things.

I agree and it's actually better than getting stuck in a tough league randomly because in that situation you'd be forced keep losing season after season from Rookie to Vet, sometimes.

If you make Elite, worst case, you get beat up one season and then you go back to a regular league.

Or, you might be surprised by how you do. I didn't think Waterboys would even win a league game this season. But, we're hanging in there and still have an outside shot at making the playoffs.

Next season we'll be back in a regular league and life goes back to normal.

Yep. Why even play the game if you don't want to be the best? Isn't that the point of playing?

Meh, different people play for different reasons. Personally I just want to field a competitive team and play spoiler every now and then.

Trophies are for the ones that care about them.

I’m too good to ever be outside Elite but not good enough to win it That 5th ring could be a ways away for me. Elite is fun and new. It could suck being the worst of the best, but worse comes to worse you’ll be back to normal league next season!

Don't mind my asking, but, how are you meant to learn the game if not by facing good opposition?

Look Hayrow, last season I missed game planning like 10 games and I think I lost against most of the elite teams... guys could tell when I was active and I dunno with my schedule if I'll have to dip for a bit or not. I wasn't even aware there was going to be an "Elite League", but I was under the impression all the "elite" teams wanted a challenge so I asked if anyone wanted to switch who was for sure gonna game plan and Bort was OK with this... even with that, the league/division I'm in has several other good teams who could've just as easy been "elite".

Besides, no one thinks I'm "elite" anyways according to Edgar's "popularity poll". So you and whoever can have whatever opinion you want, Bort was good with me moving or he wouldn't have done it. But if you want to watch, give me a play by play on my games because sometimes I forget about them.

If Bort allows them to switch, then it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. I switched because I can't guarantee if I'll be active or not and Bort was cool with it as long as someone was willing to take my place. There is no hard core rule about forcing teams to be in an "elite" league if they don't want to be in one.

Bort will allow you to switch if someone wants to be a "hero" and take your place so there is no hardcore rule saying you have to be in an elite league if you don't want to be.

The actual answer btw. You can go to official glb discord during offseason and ask Bort to move you. People were doing this openly and no one really minded.

the entire point of the elite leagues was based on borts feedback from agents complaining about teams that are "elite" beating this shit out of lower level teams. Just because some ranking didn't rank you where you wanted doesn't mean your team itself isnt beating a lot of teams quite easily.

Sure bort allows it but I am saying you shouldnt be allowed. If your team does good enough on auto pilot to be top 12 in rankings then your team needs to be in elite so that teams under you in ranking can get a season to try and learn the game without taking full ass kickings by an auto pilot team. thats even worse for their morale finding out those teams are auto pilot and bich slap them around.
