A common issue in the past has risen again. Not trying to take anything away from the hard work everyone has done to make the playoffs, but

Ganymede You have an 8-6 team that is a division Leader, meanwhile a 9-5 team just made the wildcard spot.

Jupiter You have a 9-5 division winner and an 11-3 team missed the playoffs.

Mars 10-4 division winner and an 11-3 team making the wildcard spot

Mercury works as intended.

Neptune 9-5 division winner and an 12-2 wildcard team.

Saturn working as intended.

Uranus 9-5 division winner and an 12-2 wildcard team

Venus working as intended.

So, there's 5 leagues were a team with a better record either just made the playoff or failed to with a better record than the division winner.

If you get rid of divisions. playoffs are more record based and then have 4 best teams in each league play each other in an elimination round, top two teams from those leagues play the top two from other leagues in elimination round. the winner would be that tier champion.

It is the nature of divisions and we like that.

The champion ends up being who it should be and that's all that really matters.

Jupiter’s beta division works exactly as the football gods intended. 4 leagues.

Is a winner winning if they're 12-2 and miss the playoffs while a 9-5 team gets in and probably loses int he first round?

Not only that but the winners would still be winning, just in a different format sooo this doesn't make sense

I mean... maybe he's agreeing with you. Harrow's post could also be read that way... The champion still ends up being who it should be under your format

Really has nothing to do with the leagues, just the teams in them. The season matters more this way, it’s not too hard to see that.

I was apart of 6 championship teams that were the underdogs in the playoffs. The idea that the “best team isn’t winning” is biased and just goes to show how much the game is focused on numbers now as opposed to football logic.

This is disrespectful to so many teams and I hope you recognize that. You can have a great record and still be a loser as well. Matchups, game planning, execution, and so much more play a part in a teams success (strength of schedule much?).

So to recap: all the leagues are working as expected, you just don’t like the fact that “top teams” are competing for limited playoff spots. You don’t like the fact that the playoff structure works exactly as it should. I’d be for playoff expansion, but this request would likely ruin league play tremendously.
