Ideally fulfilling this suggestion would just be some further form of limitation on them than what we currently have.

Top Teams with 10+ S* shouldn't be the norm imo. 10+ being META is absurd. Before we were limited by the legitimate rarity of S* players, now we're limited by CAP space. I understand S* requirements were originally lightened to solve a problem, but we've overcorrected way into the other direction. We went from S* players being too rare to them being too common.

Call me old fashioned but the whole point of a S* was that they were supposed to be a bid deal. That's what made the concept fun. It gave teams a unique identity. But lets be honest 95% of the time you know that realistically you're gonna need that S* QB, HB, and TE before you even start designing the team.

I understand we have the new "prodigy" character trait now which is much appreciated. It certainly will be a very fun new mechanic to play with and Optimize. However, I still feel teams should be more limited then they currently are in term of selecting key players to be S*s.

I was going for more of a, "salary cap allows too many" type vibe.

I really like prodigy! I was playing around on glb2scout and was able to throw together a team with 26 Prodigies, 12 on offense and 14 on defense.
What I really like about prodigy is (1) everyone has access to it, and (2) it lends itself to more balance than S*s.

Maybe make CPU players cost the same as agent players. Some teams use the lower cost CPU contracts to squeeze in an extra star.

No need to allow that.

Yeah but CPU players suck and are basically only good filler.

agreed, but it is basically a roster "hack" to use them instead of an actual dot when they are cheaper.

... by 5%.

And you typically use them in spots with low salary anyhow since if you have them do anything but STs they will kill your ability to play.

I mean, I am 100% for making superstars cost more and giving teams less options to squeeze them in - I was also in favor of removing some SPs from all players so superstars were more valuable and regular players had to make more choices on how to build - but CPUs are already hard to deal with on the roster in general and a pain in the butt as it is to use not to much as a 'hack' but as a way for most teams to kinda still make things work while hindering themselves. It's almost always better to have the human depth instead of taking on cpus to make things work out. A non-boosted player does way, way better than a cpu, the 5% isn't worth it.

Now, one thing I will say is that the fact a cpu can sit on the roster with a low contract and start each game with 100 chem is a bit... odd... but that's how bort has set them up because they were absolute crap-ola before he did that.

Getting rid of low contracts is an idea that I think works - it's really only used by those of us who stack stars and no one uses it for any other purpose.

Low contracts are also kind of a trap for new players. New players often don't realize how harmful it is.

This....I can't believe how many times I look at a random roster and it is full of low contracts with plenty of salary remaining....
