Hey y'all;

How do we reduce passes that can't be caught due to nearby defense?

I used to think it was just Catch in Traffic, and I've had decent success by increasing CIT to mitigate this. But does anybody know how much it has to do with toughness, Recieving Hands, energy/morale etc?

I’m sure most of those skills have an indirect or slight direct effect. Receiving Hands has a roll that it has to pass.

From just the WR perspective the three skills I've seen help the most are Hands, Catch in Traffic, Heart.

If toughness is involved this is the first I'm hearing of it.

Might just be an indirect involvement (less loss of heart, means your hands and CIT rolls are better)

This is my thoughts as well. Some skills are modifiers for the main skills. Heart, toughness, leadership, etc...

CIT and Hands are the 2 main skills use in "Due to Nearby Defense". But you also need quickness/sprint to get to the location, footwork and balance to turn around and face the QB/pass, etc...

To complete an entire route/pass, several skills are used.

Have your QB get TTN to Gold and Pass Tech to 100.

Toughness was just an assumption. Hmm

CIT is helpful. Not all contests are equal so Route runnning + route elusiveness is helpful as U can fit it in build. Quickness and footwork is also helpful to be able to generate this separation. Receiving awareness is helping. Good scheming is helpful. Good snap reaction is making U faster at start so defender got it harder to keep up.

I think Heart is overrated. Reception awareness, Reception consistency, CIT, and Hands.

My TE John Cena is an absolute beast and he has 18 heart.
He currently has the 2nd most receiving yards in Sophomore tier (1128) and the most touchdowns (11).This is going by the league stats provided in both Egg and Palm league.

The other TE on my team, Hippity Hoppity, has 25 hearts. He also has the 2nd most TDs in both leagues (10) and the 4th most receiving yards only behind Cole Turner, Guac S*TE (by 7 yards), and the previously mentioned John Cena. All of whom are superstar players unlike Hippity.

Heart won't help too much when your team is already crushing people. It helps in those really tough games to keep morale more normalized so he doesn't flunk a roll in a do-or-die situation. The skill has it's benefits, but it's also dependent on how the team operates as well.

And how do you know he wouldn't play even better if he had more heart? Just because you're successful doesn't mean you're successful because your heart is 18, especially when there's a wealth of other confounding variables like playcall selection, QB build, racking up stats against less competitive opponents, sheer targets, and high baseline morale due to overall team success. Without being able to point to actual game mechanics as the reason for your observation, you may just be pointing out a correlation that has no actual cause-effect relationship, where on the other hand we know for a fact that morale has a multiplicative effect on catching skills. You won't notice the effect of heart when you're winning most of your games 50-0, but in your losses when morale is low... you'll see the difference. And if you have to choose how to best spend SP, are you looking to pad your stats in blowouts or win the games you otherwise would have lost?

Also, just refreshed the page and saw Raid said the exact same thing, but too lazy to edit so just posting anyway

Good thing the pass wasn't to your BTE; he was gassed before the play even started.
