Is Elusive Running useful if you don't take spin or juke SA? What does it actually do? Does it make your player do that little stutter step when about to be tackled?

I honestly think it can be even better if you don't take one of those SAs, depending on the situation. From my observation, it seems that elusiveness makes defenders hesitate when they go to tackle your HB and causes them to take bad angles of pursuit (or run right past the HB), as well as causing mini fakes like that stutter step that can freeze a defender's momentum and make them too slow to catch up after. The better your HB's natural change of direction ability and overall speed, the more effective elusive running seems to be.

Interesting

Guess I'll find out, because I don't think Holieway will take juke/spin SA (taking Thread the Needle, B4I and Sure-Footed to Gold).

Almost all my HBs broken tackles are outside of using a juke or spin, and they break quite a bit.

Balance and elusiveness can break tackles on top of ankles.

And guys like Bubba on the chamrs show you can break tackles and be an effective elusive without investment into spin or juke.

Kvothe pretty much hit the nail on the head.

I always found stiff arm on a powerback running on elusive was great.

I am honestly starting to like Surge more and more. With C Murder I have noticed exactly what Raid said, he breaks more tackles without juke than with it. Surge has been what impressed me the most when I added it with him. Surge firing got many first downs and big inside runs that he likely wouldn’t have had.

For me Juke isnt about the actual broken tackle, its kind of more of a gets him to open field faster with his lateral. or that half misstep by the defense 4 yards away just frees him up to take off. Depends on what you're looking fgor out of it.

I like surge as well. The only problem is there are so many SAs to choose from. I really like sure footed...at least to silver.

Sure footed really helps if you want to run elusive or slippery.
