Why can't I sign my ST FB?

I just created a new ST FB that I want to replace my ST Guard. They have the exact same salary. I want to give him a low contract worth 1.855$. After cutting the ST G, I have 1.859$ Salary Cap Space Remaining. When I try to sign the ST FB to a low contract, I get the message "This player would put the selected team over their salary cap." But this is not true. If I sign him, I would still have $4000 left.

Roster space is not an issue as I am at 36 right now.

It's a stupid bug, but you're unable to sign a player unless the player could sign at 'medium' contract price. So you have to lower other's contracts in order to sign him, then raise them back up after he's signed. even if you sign him at low.

That is a huge bug that needs to be fixed. It shouldn’t be that hard to fix it. Luckily I had my kicker on high contract so I could temporarily lower it to medium so I could sign the FB.
