How much conditioning do you usually put on a QB? I was wondering why QBs are always the first players to have their energy drained. Then I started watching replays. When a QB throws a pass, he loses anywhere from 10 to 25 energy....something like that....depending on the distance of the throw.

How much conditioning do you put on a passing QB?

How much conditioning do you put on a running QB?

What about a hybrid?

Jamelle Holieway will end build with 76 conditioning and 39 toughness. I would say he will pass ~10 times per game and run ~15 per game.

Assisted Living QB end build has 73 conditioning. Currently he's at 46.

Apparently there are agents out there who swear by low conditioning QBs. I've never tried it but I'm skeptical.

I treat my QB's like any other position, enough to get through a game and more if he has no sub to rest him. The more you all watch games the more you all should be able to guess the amount you need based on your schemes.

50-70 seems to be the sweet spot for QBs. Freddy Krueger is only at 33 for example, and does fine running 20+ times a game & passing 30.

I did go to 90 cond once with a S* rQB, and it worked well. But ran a heavy screen offense(so didn't need high passing skill), and the sim was very different back then. I don't go this high anymore at all. https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/208749

Damn....those are some high rushing numbers.

Guess that was before the balance fix.

He's fine in terms of performance though, not actual conditioning. I mean, typically before the the halfway point of the game his conditioning is all the way down to 1!

But if he's still playing fine, what does that mean? Is conditioning just not needed for QBs? Is that a dumb question? Am I an idiot?

That is a great question. He seemed to be moving around fine with less than 10 energy. I would assume it would effect many of his throwing mechanics like accuracy and especially power. But power is useless until higher tiers. Look at QBs with low energy from Vet and see if they have a noodle arm.

It's a question many have asked for a long time. Ideally you want as much conditioning as possible on any build, but QBs seem to handle no energy well, and like Cyber said they lose it really quick anyway. So better to use the SP for other skills typically. Still would aim for at least 50 cond by Vet though.

It's essential if you want to throw to the outside with any sort of velocity.

I suppose if you just want to dump it 8 yards to the TE its sort inconsequential - but arm strength is clearly effected by it.

Of course Bort couold bail us out and fix breath regimen on QBs for in game - but that's a seperate issue.

Nah, Tecmo Mahomes has 50 conditioning and can throw with power all game long even with no energy. Same fast, zero arc pass as always https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/792736/2119420

That's a 15 yard pass. Not exactly down the field. Plus to borrow from Major League II - "yeah its alot a power - against a guy who'll be bagging groceries in a couple weeks"

Pretty Much any QB can generate a "quality pass" roll which always looks like its generated before the throw - it which case it'll look fine unless its outside your max range to do so.

Everything else is a question of degrees.

Put it to you this way: I've had QBs with Gold Second Wind Before. With low relatively low conditioning - late in the 3rd QTR the ball wobbles it meanders (against real teams yeah it looks good against gut jobs usually) - right at the start of the 4th QTR when Second Wind kicks in they come out throwing like they have they have the only lighter in the crack house.

I'm sure some of that is the morale plus but you'd see a conditioning bump and a bump in pass quality as well.

I think this is the mystery of it all. Some feel they can see a significant difference, while others really don't notice much. No doubt more conditioning is better if possible, but when QB skills are so expensive, it's hard to push it too high.

Low Morale hits like a hammer though

Crazy....he has 2 energy when he releases that pass. No way he should throw with such velocity and accuracy that distance.

That pass was 20 yards, across the field.

I dont think GLB measures by total distance but rather distance from the point the ball was snapped.
