How much Catch in Traffic does the WR need to consistently catch the ball "in traffic". YAC Attack 80s has 73 but it seems like every 3rd ball thrown to him is "unable to secure the ball due to nearby defense." which I believe is directly tied to CIT. Hands shouldn't come into the equation because he has to pass the hands check for CIT to even come into play. His consistency is 56....not to high. I know the defense can knock the ball loose, int the ball and PD the ball, but does the defensive player's skills have any effect on " unable to secure the ball due to nearby defense." other than being in close proximity to the WR?

How high is his heart and how high is your QB's tech? Also, catching 2/3 contested passes is actually a pretty good ratio, isn't it?

Not completely sold that hands don't play a big part, either - would love to know more if that's true.

From past discussions, the throw has to pass the "Receiving Hands" check first. Then if the defender is within a certain distance, the CIT roll takes place. At least that is what I recall.

Wow. Had no idea, thank you.

Well, as far as what I do know, your guy definitely, definitely needs more heart. Catching passes from CPU QBs in pickup games is also going to have lower catch rates than in real games, so he should translate fine as a real player even if he's performing less than ideally right now. Other than that, defender proximity to the receiver should be the only thing interfering in "unable to secure" situations, afaik. Sometimes I do feel like it happens way more often when "On an Island" procs, but you (or I, or whomever else) would need to test that in pickup games to see whether it's just a figment of my imagination or actually something real.

I have always believed the CIT roll was first before hands. Makes no difference though.

Either way, you cannot expect to never see nearby defender fails. Consistency is certainly important as well. Would always just plan to hammer CIT and Consistency both over 80 if possible.
