the skill is way too good at the moment, the way it activates to allow an entire defense to just never be out of position is a bit frustrating, the way that there is absolutely no offensive counter to it in the run game is the most frustrating.

It's meant to help a player who got left out of a play catch back up to it, not to allow players to always be involved no matter where they started on the field due to a full on 20% bonus to run speed.

Since sprinting's max value before boosts is 225 (100+125) - the effective boost of a 20% raise is astounding compared to values we'd have to add.

I mean, take a guy with 30 sprint (155) - he'd be boosted from 155 to 186. He's now got 61 sprinting.

Now, let's take that LB with 70 sprint (195) - he's now got 109 sprint.

How about a safety with 85 sprint? - 127 sprint.

You wonder why halfbacks are hard to make? No boost to speed for HBs outside. This skill either shouldn't activate if the runner is withing 3 yards of LoS, or not activate on runs at all - or just be dialed back to a reasonable amount. Or add a negative to it? Something, anything, it's so insane.

Doesn't closing speed screw with the defender AI? I've seen so many instances of players under the effect just completely zoom past runners and ignore them, as if they can't control their own speed.

Regardless, I 100% agree. The fact that it procs so often even without investment in pursuit and that it also gives cond in addition to the sprinting is just overkill.

I am sorry but you are wrong. So wrong. I have watched elusive HB do so well at vet for a while now. Hell, my Star HB is dominating at the moment. Closing speed is the perfect SA to balance defense versus offense. I build some of the best defenses in the game, yes I use closing speed in a lot of dots, but even with that I still do not have any astronomical tfl due to it. We hold RB to 70-120 rushing yards most of the time. That is pretty normal to NFL I do believe. Running backs are still averaging well over 150 yards a game. That is hall of fame running back last time I checked.

It’s not that they can’t, it’s that they struggle to do so unless blocking is on point to make that speed pointless, or they have to just break 4-5 tackles in one play, and Even elusive HBs have to build to 100 sprint and rely heavily on that blocking to even try to fight back against the gigantic boosts in speed.

It’s more of a pain about how easy it is to defend speed on the outside because of it, giving players an easier time being stouter up the gut so teams can effectively be set up to stuff both kinds of backs with the same builds on the reg.

I still find success, none of my backs are struggling, but balance shouldn’t come from just letting more guys get at the play. The type of backs most effected by this would be power backs actually, since they often take longer to get past an open man, giving more time for the defense to collapse.

This is a non-issue, imo. But, I don't make many HBs, lol.
