I just finished lamenting about how poor the kickers are when I thought of the following:
Missing easy kicks, dropping catch-able balls, missing open receivers are all very frustrating because we think of our players as grown men who should be better, even as Rookies.
However, if you rename the ranks to, say:
Rookie = Junior High School
Sophomore = High School
Journeyman = Junior College
Professional = College
Veteran = Professional
...now, when my 'junior high' kicker misses a 27 yard field goal, I don't feel so bad. "Aww, he's only in junior high, he'll get better when he grows up."
But, if my 'professional' kicker misses a 27 yard FG you'd better believe I'm yelling expletives as I chuck my laptop out the window!
Just a thought.
