Thought it may be a good idea to start a thread that can run during the season for ideas for next season and to talk about the current changes. Im still testing all the changes so i've not much to say on them at this moment but it all looks good. The drop back power and new SA could be a strong ability but it seems building a better line is better than being able to occasionally break a sack. it will require testing

the trend the past two seasons have been about buffing and changing under used skills so i think it would be a good idea to start there for next season

this broken sack is a thing of beauty https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/726160/2318811

so what is used as a defensive lineman to counter the sack? is it just tackling tech to give them the best approach at the sack? or does the SA keep the Dline of balance with almost a juke/spin?

i dont have a QB personaly made myself to test or look at anything

best guess is tackling grip and tech

Also anyone planning to utilize this skill we already know how it works from CD. You will need very high CND to make use of this skill properly so bare that in mind when building

https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/726167/2319033 this play was not possible yesterday lol and its really cool

This all seems good, but also kind of scary how effective he made it sound. QBs naturally stack some footwork, so just a little drop back grip and shed sack investment is going to probably do wonders.

It’s very simple, tackling tech and talking power would counter act this skill

Yeah, as you know, when the changelog came out this was the exact reaction I had. It seems like it's a bit much all at once to open up elusive and power skills and add momentum for free, it's like if suddenly HBs got a 'break tackle' stat that just replaced elusive and power running and did both while stacking intimidation and freight train on top for free.

It's gonna take a lot of balancing when that much changes.

I could be wrong but I'm thinking that its more effective in rookie because defensive guys don't have much for tackling skills yet and as they add sp it will be less effective and take a significant amount of investment to keep up with defensive builds. I'm going to wait and see how it scales. If you can use it with out taking to much away from other places I think it will be a good skill.

i don't know about the effects of game balance but if it is a build its a pretty expensive investment and your going to be lacking on a lot of your other skills. being unsackable may be good if you plan on a Power Rushing QB Dual Threat thing. maybe a good meme build but im not sure how effective it will be

Except if a broken tackle did nothing. Breaking a sack accomplishes nothing on it's own.

Being able to avoid sacks is HUGE and may actually open up other passing plays that were previously sack bait no matter what. If the changes are effective, this makes the cat and mouse game between OCs and DCs even better. If not, the same plays will continue to be spammed.

I however welcome changes that may lead to more plays gaining effectiveness. At least it is an effort to create more diversity within the playcalling.

Exactly so far the best case scenario would be keeping a PA play alive or possibly a tuck and run after a heavy blitz.

I think what really surprises me is the Activation chance % being so high for Shed Sack. If you look at the other Abilities, including the other new one "First Strike" they don't have that high of an Activation chance %

Oh? No bonus to morale and negative to morale on the players involved? QBs thrive off morale, break a few sacks and suddenly you’re on cloud nine right?
