could you be referring to your most recent game 0/2 30-39 and 0/2 40-49? with out the ability to see your build for a vet, not myself, to pin point what could have happened. had you made those 4 kicks you would have won your game, or atleast mad 3 youd only lose by 1, lot more gratifying. the questions some may have is whats your heart at? your consistency? were you kicking on a 3 and out? that can cause moral drop, does the other team stack intimidation? i can only assume intimidation would work against a K/P as it would for a QB.

i dont believe kicking is "Broken", i believe theres more to the sims math problem than most would first think about. our recent league game, we made a 20-29 and 40-49 but missed out PAT the Pat was also only after a short drive from decent field position after a punt. i think theres a lot to heart and moral that a kicker and punter need that may be underestimated.

Has nothing to do with my kicker, I actually just watched that game too and it validates my point. Since I’ve been back, watching kicking has been extremely annoying. I’m just not seeing much use out of kickers anymore as opposed to how major they used to be. GLB kickers are starting to look like NFL kickers; there’s just not a lot of consistency. I’ve been watching other teams across multiple tiers and I’m seeing a lot of missed kicks. Might have to do with their builds, but I just don’t recall ever seeing so many missed kicks. A lot of top teams used to religiously set up at half field for a kick, but I’m seeing less confidence in doing so these days.

Hence, fix them. They just feel like kickoff specialists at this point. I’m not saying go back to the 50+ days, but with how expensive SP is on kicking specialists it would make sense to either bump them up a bit or STOP WITH THE CONSISTENTLY RIDICULOUS WINDS.

Also the SA options for kickers SUCK

And as far as my kicker goes I don’t really care tbh. He’s built as he should be at this point in time, he’s just stupid lol. I‘m test running a tall kicker this time around to see if there’s actually a difference and so far I’m mixed on the results.

Sounds like a build issue. My guy was bad at rookie, but at journeyman hes hitting 75%

Looking at his stats he’s never made a 50+ and rarely goes for the 40-49 yarders. You’ve proved my point that if it isn’t close range it isn’t worthwhile kicking. Even I’ve already sank a 50+ and we won’t try anymore (safe FG range for me is 65 I believe but the ST coordinator must be on the sidelines saying hell no).

From what I've seen Star Kickers still only get you to the upper 70% success. I've built kickers with 100 accuracy, 100 consistency, high heart, balance, footwork, snap reaction, FG power, sprinting, quickness. I've tried lots of different things and they all pretty much suck.

Religiously only took deep kicks. And he wasn’t even near the top of the kicking totem pole when it came to 40-50 yarders. Of course you’ll have your misses, but if the build is good you definitely shouldn’t be consistently shanking as many kicks as I’m seeing these days.

Looking like college kickers now actually

Kicking sure feels like a spot that could use some love.

I have to agree. I was getting so upset with kickers missing easy kicks that I had to build one myself. Made him a Natural and Early Bloomer. Gave him 2-star Chip Shot. Put every Skill Point in to Kick Accuracy, Kick Consistency and Field Goal Power only. He's half way through Rookie and he's hit only 5 of his last 14 FG attempts. It's SO frustrating!

He's never missed an XP so, that's good, I guess.

so im noticing that field goal power might be whats making kickers miss kicks. i know sounds crazy. but after last season with the offensive MVP kicker that i made the post for only had 25 power entire season, he made 19 40-49 FGs that season, 3 in one game when his accuracy was at 62, pwr at 25, and cons around 30s-40s. im beginning to believe that when you highlight FG Power and it reads "how hard a player can kick the ball" that its actually causing the ball to not go where he wants it. in other words, more power less accuracy. if 25 power is all is needed for 49 yard FGs, whats trully the benefit of going higher? for one more tier FG? ive made a new K for this season, im seeing same results.

After this HB pickup experiment is done I'll build a kicker and see what I can learn.
