How do skill points accumulate value?

Is every point worth 1% of max, or do they compound as they increase?

Is 25 points worth 25% of max? Would 50 points be 25% more than 25 points, or 100% more?

Is it worth it to max a skill out to say 91 instead of stopping at 90? Is paying 1500 pts worth that extra 1 pt?

Depends on the skill, we don't know for sure on a lot of them, but sprinting is a value that is 125+current level.


So 50 sprinting is '175' speed in the game, and 75 sprinting is '200' - as you can see it's a diminishing return in terms of %, but always a step up progressively anyhow. We just don't know how any other skills are adjusted and only got this one accidentally.


I can say that if you want to be able to outrun a defense 90 is the minimum, 95 lets you do it easier, 100 even moreso - but that's just how it works out from the average speed of defenders - in reality those numbers are less than 5% total difference between 90 and 100 - but that 5% can mean a lot.


Even though we know the value of sprinting, the game doesn't really conform to that or else everyone would run at 85 sprinting.


That being said, 100 is not worth the investment for it, 95 kind of is - but 90 lets you free up some points if you are going to go for a power type or one who focuses on really breaking tackles with elusiveness. My current speedback is only 90 sprinting, he does okay - I do miss the extra speed but he can do so much with his build because of it.




The entire game is give and take, and noone has the exact right answer on how much give is best - so it's still fun to experiment. If you have any questions though, I've spent a lot of time adjusting my builds and tweaking around to see what all the skills do for runners at least - and pretty heavily in the linemen department as well.
