What do you guys think about this Ability on Offensive Tackles?

Seems like that's a pretty Guard-Center specific skill. The term "pull" (in real football, anyway) usually means crossing behind the line of scrimmage to engage on the opposite side, and I can't think of any GLB2 plays where OTs do that. Even if GLB2 considers pulling to be blocking outside of the tackle box on the same side, i.e. sweeps and tosses, I don't see this being worth it, as Resolute already takes up one SA for them. My $0.02.

Why left specific? They can pull left and right for run plays can’t they?

More plays in general will have LG pull than RG, generally the LG position is called the 'pulling guard' in reference to how much he pulls. The RG is supposed to be more focused on hard-nosed run blocking instead to be the spearhead/push on the power side of the line. This is also why RTs tend to be more run focused than LTs, and why the TE lines up on that side to help support the RT in pass blocking as well as be an extra body for power-side runs.

That is certainly true of real life football but is it true of GLB2?

Ya that’s the differentiation I’m trying to make. Real life football and simulation football shouldn’t be compared in every single aspect I feel. Obviously the goal is to create sim football as close to the real thing as possible, but not every strategy can be the same

Hmmm, I would argue that the RG is the most important spot to put pull specialist. GLB's best runs go to the right, and this SA really is key for making them work. LG is important too, but just not as many plays going to the left.

You're right about most good run plays going to the right, but I think the point they are making, is that on a lot of those plays the LG actually swings way out and tries to get ahead on the right side to block

This, it's plays that go left that usually call for RG to pull. Typically the guard on the side of the ball does the downhill blocking and the off-guard pulls to try and add another body and spring the HB.

Play side guard pulling is a disaster. It gives blitzers and linemen a free shot at the QB->HB interaction, or requires a FB to make a crucial block on an inside defensive lineman, which still clogs up the backfield.
It's usually the opposite guard pulling, then either the FB filling the hole or the line shifting down to cover the hole.

Maybe I'm confused here, because I've always seen the oppostie. Can anyone show some plays with this.

Ya know looking at the playbook... wtf, there are way too few pulls in general - and about half of the outside run plays ARE playside pulls... this explains why a lot of runs are just terrible. I'd not looked that closely at guard play to realize.
Off-tackle runs though, the guard pulling is all correct. Weird, there are a decent amount there - more than I'd expect off tackle actually - and they are all non-playside pulls.
Most of the outside pull plays to the run side are on counters... which is just begging for a TFL... what the fuck

I've often wondered why there are no defensive line stunts/twists in the game AT ALL.

I went through and fixed a lot of them at one point. Especially counters. There's admittedly still a lot that do play side pulling, but honestly a lot of times it works like zone blocking so it isn't too atrocious. I wonder if a lot of the new plays Bort added awhile back are the play side pulling (especially counters because I know I fixed those damn things)
