GLB2 seems to be winding down a bit. The game itself isn't in a bad place mechanics wise, but the league tier "grind" doesn't play well anymore when there's only 71 human teams left. By the time a squad gets to Pro, it's largely CPU teamss filling the tier.

So, if possible, would the Devs consider an additional League format. Something more in line with the NFL, and would eliminate the "grind" of waiting multiple seaosn just to get to Vet.

Addtional League structure idea:
-Would have ideally have set league structure of 32 or 64 teams. Could be expanded if demand warratned it from human owners
-Offseasons hava a "Draft".....only teams don't actually pick players, but instead get "draft slots". The first 10-15 picks are S* players, and the overall skill points of a picks goes down on a sliding scale based on draft psotion. So a #1 pick would be a S* build with the highest possible SP, and a late round pick would be a non-S* with lower overall SP. This balances the S* players aorund the league, and allows GMs/Agents to still make the players they want.
-Owners/Gms can then open up these slots for agents to make their players(or make their own). Granted, this part would be the trickiest to implement.
-Players still progress and peak around their 5th season, maintaining their prime for a few seaosns, and then SP drops progressively after that. GMs can keep a player as long as they want...but obviously a 15 year player likely will be a washed out shell.
-This means teams would have players from Vets to rookies and so on. Mananging a team, coaching, player building, free agency, all become far more interesting again. Set leagues also means better rivals, and suits the smaller userbase

Just an idea.

I would love to see the format Corndog suggested which hits a lot of those points and has already proven to work very well.

In the very least if we don't change our league formats, we should drop another tier (or two) and add them to Vet.

New offensive formations: Twins WR sets, Strait T, Wing T

New Defensive plays: More 4-3 Shallow sets like Middle Overload, Will & Sam Blitz's. I really like that set up and want to see more of it.

Very Minor boost to SA's like Inspire Fear for punters (I think I might have seen it force a fumble once all year if I'm not mistaken) and Head Fake for WRs/TE's.

And lastly...

...please give us the option on defense to set up plays for 2TE's based on if the formation has 1 WR or 2 WRs... Similar as to how we can with the Trips WR's in the other formations.

Thanks.

Drop Journeyman? Rookie, Sophomore, Prof, Vet. Just add the difference in points to when you become a professional and prevent ladder matches between Soph and Profs. Seems like an easy solution to me.

I agree, but it's not going to happen.

I know Corndog is open to it but Bort and a few users are pretty stubborn.

Less teams should mean less tiers.

The game is built around rewarding competition between teams at the same tier. But if you can't field a tier of human owned teams, then you have too many tiers.

Instead of constantly lagging the decline in teams, Bort&Cdog should get ahead of the curve and over-cut. A Tier needs 24 teams (2 Leagues) to be viable so you can have League games and Ladder games.

71 human owned teams = 3 tiers.

It's time to do it.

I also forgot to mention that I rarely see Quick Hitter fire... I dunno if that's due to On The Run over-riding it on the display or not.

Idk what they'll do with knowledge if they drop a tier but all for something to get more than 1 league a tier

Best thing for the game would likely be to make all players created Vets, lower the cost for fully boosting players, lower S* player point requirements for creation, increase S* players allowed per slot, and just cram everything remaining in to vet.

I 100% agree with all these suggestions. But like PaulMots suggested, condensing the tiers is the best and probably easiest fix. I'd be happy with 3 or 4 tiers. Maximizing seasons in vet with fully developed builds is ideal.

It’s in the seasonal reset league suggestion thread in suggestions. It would be like the original peewee format in GLB1 which was awesome.

Everyone would be vets. There are three tiers gold, silver, and copper. Gold would be one league of the very top teams.

Silver would likely be two leagues of good to intermediate teams.

Copper would be filled with less experienced and CPU teams.

You reset and rebuild every season allowing you to tweak builds and try new things.

You advance through tiers by winning. Such as the 4 teams that played in the silver championship games would promote to gold and the bottom 4 gold teams would demote to silver.

You are always playing against others around your skill level. So new owners will no longer get crushed by older players and actually have something to play for.

I played in the original peewee and the system was pretty much flawless.

I just don't like the reset and rebuilding players every season is my only beef... seems counter productive to the HoF and what not, just my opinion. Outside of that, I like everyone just being in Vet.

Rather this than one tier - I like the progression tbh
