Toughness vs. Intimidation seems pretty intuitive for the most part. It's my understanding that the Toughness vs Intimidation interaction between o-line and d-line takes place after each tick's roll for winning or losing Blocking Technique, with the morale and energy bars changing more drastically throughout a play if the roll winner has much higher Intimidation relative to the loser's Toughness.

Seems pretty straightforward to me. Except... Here are a few examples I'm unclear about:

1. Let's say a DE breaks off an OT's pass-block with Spin Cycle and gets a hurry. Is the penalty to the OT's morale based on the OT's level of Heart or their level of Toughness?

2. How about in the event of a Pancake or RevCake? Is the penalty size affected by Heart or Toughness? I'd have assumed Heart in this case, but the fact that Beat Down (which gives a bonus to the morale and energy effect of cakes or revcake) is powered by Intimidation makes me second-guess that.

3. I know it's not necessarily in the description, and it may be a completely stupid question. It's obvious Heart affects the penalty size, but in the event of a GOOD play (ie getting a sack or making a pick), does Heart affect the size of the bonus morale gained too? I haven't been able to tell, and there are way too many variables involved to try to compare directly (like QBs having wildly varying Leadership levels, etc).

Heart affects literally every change in morale that toughness doesn't.

Toughness is to protect against physical beatdowns of your morale, heart is for protection against emotional beatdowns.

So skills that effect your morale are resisted by heart, and bad play results are resisted by heart, but the physical energy and morale loss from being beaten around is toughness.

So, for the questions:

1) The spin cycle interaction will have a little bit of toughness interaction, but the large majority of your effects on this play will be from heart, he allowed a player to get by him quick and gave up a sack - both those things are combated by heart.

2) The physical part of the interaction would again be handled by toughness, but the result in him being pancaked will be determined by heart. Any skills like beat down are also resisted by heart.

3) As far as I can tell, no - or if it is the effects are ridiculously minor. Heart seems to have no bearing on how fast you can get hyped up, just on how hard it is for the defense to stop you from being able to raise morale through good plays.

Wrong. It's the inverse equation of the losing morale formula.

Good to know.
