Inconsistent...
The Jarvis Street Coffee Squirrels were shocked at home today by the Aikahi Tigers 10-7. This upset comes just 1 game after their own spectacular upset victory over the Whoville Whos. The Whos were undefeated going into the game, but the Squirrels came out on top 23-20.

The Coffee Squirrels didn't hold on to 1st place for very long. They have only lost 3 times all season, but 2 of their losses have come from teams with losing records.

The Coffee Squirrels will try to stay sharp and not get upset for the remainder of the regular season. They sit atop their division, but are holding on to a 1 game lead over The Beer League. The two will face off next league game and the winner will likely take the division title.

It's in their name.
The Slaughter Bay Slashers have slaughtered yet another victim. Today's victim was The Beer League. Beer League came into the game with an 8-2 record, the same as Slaughter Bay. But the teams were not as even as their records indicated. The Slashers won 58-19.

This is just more of the same for Slaughter Bay. Since April 11th, they've won every game by at least 3 TDs. During this 11-game stretch, their average margin of victory is 40 points.

In today's game, the Slashers threw around Beer League QB, Al Bundy, all over the field. His blood stained the turf after 20 brutal sacks by the relentless Slasher pass rush. The sacks totaled over 130 yards.

Mark May 5th on your calendars for the game between the Slashers and Whoville. It could decide the division champ.

The Beta division... AKA the Bad division.
The South Bend Stars pulled into first place in the division today with a 34-0 victory over the Los Angeles Pumas (1-9-1). The Stars lead the division with a losing record of 4-5-2.

The Egg league is full of experienced and very competitive rosters. The Beta division can't compete with the powerhouses in the other 2 divisions. The entire division has gotten manhandled in interdivisional games.

The good news is that the division remains wide open and very exciting. With just 3 games remaining, all 4 teams are still alive for a division title. The last 3 weeks are going to be tense as it will be all divisional games from here on out.

And as we saw today, the teams in this division are capable of pulling off big upsets. The Aikahi Tigers (4-6-1) took down the Coffee Squirrels (9-2) and that should give hope to whoever comes out on top in this lackluster division.

Squirrels Topple Titletown (Whoville)

Whoville's could not complete the "3peat", as Jarvis Street found a way to defeat the Whos for a 2nd time this year. In frigid temperatures, the Squirrels dominated the Whos offense. Whoville could only muster up 1 TD that came much too late in the 4th quarter.

Prescott was very efficient for the Coffee Squirrels, especially given the elements. He completed 67% of this throws for 260 yards and 2 TDs.

This was the heavyweight bought in rookie. These teams were clearly the 2 best teams, not only in the Egg League, but in the rookie rank.

Reporter asks Coffee Squirrel owner dcarbo: 1. "Does it make the championship sweeter to beat such a formidable opponent?" 2. "What was the most important part of your success this season?" 3. "Finally, congratulations on the win, what can we expect next season, dcarbo?"

1. Absolutely - sweet indeed any time you can wrestle a win away from OSIRIS
2. The players. We've got a great bunch of guys, it's a pleasure having them on the team
3. More competition. It gets harder each season, the teams get better, the game plans trickier, the margins thinner. And, of course, the hard-to-predict start-of-season Changelog.

Looking forward to it.

And thank *you*, Bizzarro24, for your delightfully entertaining reports
