Forum > Goal Line Blitz 2 > I played in season 2-5 of GLB1. Is this game alive?

Sorry if this is a common question, but I can't seem to get a handle on how active this game is. I was just looking and it seems like I started playing all the way back in 2008 for a few seasons and remember enjoying it a lot. Imagine my surprise after logging in today to not only find that a GLB2 exists, but that it was pretty old already.

Just looking at the forums it doesn't seem to be anywhere near as active as GLB was 10 years, but then again I remember doing most of my posting on private team forums.

Is the player base still large enough to warrant playing? I don't want to waste time and money if I'm just interacting with CPUs and players/teams on autopilot.

Thanks for the help.

Game parity is better now that Rob. is no longer hogging all the Vet Ladder trophies.

3 replies in an hour is more than I thought this would get lol.

I apparently have 12,000 flex points left over from GLB 1. Maybe I'll just screw around and see how it goes.

As long as more and more good folks like you keep coming, this game will always be fun and entertaining

I just came back after a couple years away myself. Game is not as active nor are the forums as vibrant. However, I'm having as much fun or more this time around. It will take you a season or two to catch up with the changes but it's worth your money still.
We as a user base need to do a better job of encouraging new and returning players. This game can grow again but we all have to help it along.

PM me if you want to team up / try your hand at coaching with an active and competitive team.

GLB is a better football simulator and for people who want the strategy and tactics of the game.

GLB2 is a better Football RPG (player builder). No need for slow building or throwing all your points in one stat. You can have a more balanced build from the start. It also has the unlocking superstar (AKA super*).

For me GLB is a better game as I happen to like the play design and play control more than building balanced players from the beginning or super*.

It looks to me like there are more human owned teams in GLB and more actual human built players. I have never run any real numbers so it is just a guess. I think it makes sense to play both and see what you enjoy more. GLB2 should only take about a season (two at the most to figure a lot of things out). The free practice players are a good learning tool.

Just feel free to ask any questions you need to help with builds or running a team. Stobie's scout tool is a must if you plan on gameplanning.
