R.I.P. Duel Threat QBs...

We had to respec Darth Bane and make him a pure drop back QB. Way too many skills to invest in a duel threat QB now that footwork and balance are needed just to not look like a dumbass tripping over himself. The QB called runs were average before this change.

Duel Threat in terms of planned runs or a scrambling quarterback?

Personally I think this may be the best time to build a scrambling quarterback. More and more defenses are gearing more towards deep coverage to hold down passing that it is really opening up the room for a QB to get 5-10 yards on a scramble.

Planned runs + scrambles + passing.

They can't have too much sprinting though. Not enough SPs.

Planned runs are pretty much dead after the first 2 tiers of play. I agree with that. Even with my pure running team it looked bad last season.

For scrambles? You don't need much. You probably aren't gonna want to go all out with Tuck and Run and all that stuff. Kinda a waste. But for rolling out and scrambling you could definitely get away with 30ish and find yourself with quite a few 10 yard runs imo.

Even with gold tuck and run, Bane, with 70ish sprinting, never got more than about 5 or 10 yards when scrambling.

Sure they can. https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/208749

Bane's problem is that his speed was always too slow to beat defenders to the outside. He was 4.7 ypc before the balance nerf, and 4.2 ypc after, which isn't much different. Dual Threats have to pose a significant enough mismatch that defenses are forced to play the run(which opens up the pass).

That was before the balance change and WR nerf...

Would have just dropped Quickness to something like 50 and pushed balance up. And lol at WRs being nerfed. Again, Bane was only 4.7 ypc before the balance changes, his problem is lack of burst to beat LBs to the corners. Probably should just retire him and bring up a PuP S* QB. May take some time to run all those pickup games, but he would be fully ready for S31 when Skeleton reaches Vet. In the meantime there's an unsigned Dual threat S* QB looking for a team to take his place..

That is all you need. A free 5-10 yards changes so much for how have to defend that team.

I would rather just respec him as a pure pocket passer. After respecing him, he actually has some very good passing skills. 92 consistency and 88 tech.

As as for this guy
https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/208749

Just looking at his stats and skills, that is laughable how good his passing stats are. Just looking at those 2 items should tell you how OP passing was.

35 power
42 tech
41 acc
49 consistency

resulted in final Vet season:
61.2%
43 TDs
4 INTs
5925 yards
8.2 YPA
104.9 QBR

Yeah...ridiculous.

No wonder he could get up to 100 in sprinting.

And yes....WRs are nerfed...actually passing in general as the WRs won't be making those diving catches to bail out shitty skilled QBs anymore, like the guy above.
