Okay i dont want anyone being pissy on this or i will shut it down myself. But i really want ex military or current in this.

The NFL players are kneeling to unite about discrimination and its not just about black people its about everyone. Do the military people actually feel they are being disrespected by this? If you are feeling disrespected then please explain why. I have a person i work with that is just in a furious outrage nonstop about this and he won't listen to any discussion or points made by anyone. These guys have literally came out and said that they respect and love the armed forces but its their peacefull way to respond.

But just curious on peoples views.

Mine: I originally said stand up you cunts, but as i researched into why they were doing it and what they said was the points and hopes i have moved to the state that i see their point and they have valid arguements to kneel to be peacefull

As a member of multiple active duty and veteran family, and a veteran myself. I very firmly believe it is completely disrespectful to not stand and pay respects to our nation's flag. Which might I add is a symbol of our strength and unity, not a symbol of our government or political standing or even each other's racial or police standings.

But..... as much as I don't like it, if I had to choose that or rioting in the streets. I would choose that, but none of those people are standing for their position of peaceful protest while standing AGAINST actively disrespectful and violent protesters. Instead they are just supporting everything, which in my eyes makes it just as bad, because it's a non active support of violent protesting.

You have the God given and Constitutional Right to stand, sit, kneel, bend over, jump or even roll like a ball if you choose to...the day a Corportation is allowed to dictate and stop you from having that right, is the day we truly lose that right...Remember that when you're flinging your opinions around...Read your 1st Amendment unless you want it abolished

Ex-military and I have zero problem with it. They are peacefully protesting and bringing a lot of attention to the issue.

Corporations have the right to have employees conduct themselves in a certain manner especially while on the job. If on their own time I don't think they would have any issue with it.

For me I have trouble relating to the hardships of a bunch of millionaires. If this is such a huge issue for them maybe they should sell a few of their cars, move into a smaller house, and redistribute their incomes into some of these terribly failed communities. Maybe it's guilt? Guilt peeps back home struggle to get enough food while they are frolicking in the clubs. Guilt peeps at home can't afford a vehicle while they have a Bentley in the garage just for show. Guilt peeps at home are having their houses foreclosed on or are getting evicted while they have more bedrooms than they know what to do with. These communities have been brushed to the side and terribly failed for a very long time. These players do not need to look very far to find the demon, they just have to look in the mirror. Give the show a break for once and do something.

This thread should be moved to http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/forum/forum/3835 .

This is correct. A player will not be arrested if he kneels but that said corporation also has the right to fire him if he kneels.

Exactly what issue is being brought to attention now? I'm really confused.

College football is better anyway. I only watch the NFL for fantasy purposes.

I want it in this thread not there. I to be honest never go there and neither do half of you guys. I am just curious on thoughts. These guys came out and said they didn’t mean anything wrong to military as they respect them a ton. They just don’t like the disrespect they get as black Americans. Most of these guys do give back to their community. They do camps for free to help kids out and they are trying to show that there are solutions without violence and that is a better show than anything as a role model that they don’t have to fight

Oh geez...the blacks getting disrespected angle?

I grew up in Louisiana. Blacks are about 50% of the population. I didn't see a lot of disrespect going on. We all got along pretty good.

Anybody else think this was a conspiracy between Trump and the owners to get the kneeling and Kap out of the NFLs hair?

The media doesn't even talk about Kap anymore as the polarizing figure, its Trump. Trump has control of the issue now. He will just move on to other things, the media can't demonize the owners anymore because they showed 'unity' with the players.

Also, this gave Godell a way to back the players. Wins all around.

Soon the kneeling will go away...

I’m white as snow dude like Irish as fuck except no red hair. But I live in just Arkansas in an area that is largely ethnic as can be. There are a very even amount of every race. But there are plenty of areas in this country where people aren’t treated fairly. It’s hard to deny those facts

In my opinion it just seems counter productive in a way. I think players should be able to protest and say what they want because they have the right to, but to mix protesting and disrespecting the flag is not the way to do it in my opinion. They are trying to raise awareness, but it feels like 50% of people are getting it and with them and the other 50% are getting more pissed off and not even wanting to hear their protest because they feel like they are disrespecting our country. I again believe they should be able to protest in a peaceful manner, but I believe they are protesting in a way that makes it hard for all 100% to clearly get their point without being upset.
