Lionel MESSI, this reply and what he did in the rest of the game of the 4th quarter, makes me curious what his build is like?

I've watched our HB Bones every game. He has 93 Elusive running and 68 FW. Yet, have never seen him go full fledged Houdini/Barry Sanders status.

I have no experience with elusive HBs...go figure, right? I just wanted to suggest that you rename the thread to, "Let's get Messi", for everybody's sake.

Haha, no I want it open up a wider conversation of what's been found to be most successful for Elusive backs.

As you could see when watching that game, MESSI overall what shut down for the 1st half and much of 3rd quarter.

Your carry awareness and conditioning are a bit lower in comparison. Something far more important in that replay than footwork.

Agree. Carry awareness is huge for scat backs.

Ya i think recent talk has had people overvalue footwork way too much. Carry awareness is actually huge and obviously needing conditioning at a 90+ level is key as well throughout the game.

Does high elusive running work that much better really? Or is carry awareness even better?

I been wanting to try and combo stiff arm/ juke/ maybe power through back but haven't had the chance yet. So really just wondering what you guys running for elusive if full elusive, and if and how much can be shaved off. Would hope to get 100 speed with 90+ carry awareness and conditioning to start him out. Not sure it a good idea but would be fun to try out I guess.

Don't need 90 carry awareness at all. Would be very hard to get the other needed skills high with that much investment into awareness. Elusive matters as does quickness.

Needs to be pretty high to fire stiff arm well doesn't it? That was my impression anyways. The real question is how little power can make stiff arm work well enough when it fires. Might just be a better idea to not try it lol. Idk was wondering if strong but not super power with good awareness, stiff arm, and decent elusiveness would work out. But now that I say it I think history of this game says it likely won't work as well as just selling out into one or the other. With that said might still try it for fun some day lol

Dream Team has an elusive HB just like you described. He can Juke and Stiff Arm nicely, and the combo works really well. Only other player that comes to mind similar is Hype who Raid made.

In hindsight Jordan should have gave Highlight the Rusher trait instead of scatback, but this build is effective running outside, inside, and on screens. Just not snow though
