Game of the week for week 12:
South Africa Hitmen (10-1) vs Sahara Sand Storm (10-1)

South Africa is coming off their biggest win of the season, knocking off the previously undefeated Kings of Cape Verde. S. Africa's loss was to Casablanca, a game they led until the last 5 seconds of the game despite never finding the end zone.
Sahara's only loss was to Cape Verde.

This game could be a preview of the semi-finals or finals of the playoffs. I don't expect either team to tip their hands towards their playoff strategies, so we may see some very vanilla offensive schemes or something truly bizarre to throw the other team off.

Offense: Both quarterbacks are excellent, but we like Hoying a touch more than the higher-leveled Montana. Both teams are solid at rushing and blocking. We would choose S.Africa's receivers over Sahara's though, so it comes down to the defensive side.
Defense: South Africa has a fearsome foursome at starting linebackers and their strong safety can cover the whole field as a last line of defense. The Hitmen also have a solid line with a little more strength up front.
Special teams: Both are good; no advantage

Prediction: We think both teams will try to exploit areas of the other team in order to 'advance scout', which will open them up to big plays if they don't win. Despite both teams having top tier defenses, we think this will be a high scoring affair. We just like the depth of South Africa too much not to take them.
Final score: South Africa 34 Sahara 24
---------------------------------------------------
Other game to watch:
Tanzania Lumberjacks (5-6) vs Durban DesertHawks (5-6)
Both teams have had big wins and this keeps one of them in the playoff race. Their defenses are evenly matched, but Durban’s offense has showed themselves to be capable of playing quality teams close. If if comes down to kicking, Tanzania has one of the best special teams in the league. But we don’t see this to be a kicking battle….
Prediction: Durban 27 Tanzania 13

Adjusted. Thanks for the catch. (I was multi-tasking at work so double-checking wasn't gonna happen. hahaha)

And again, the only reason I see this as a high-scoring affair is I expect both clubs to try different matchups, with mis-matches left open all over the place. Who knows; one of you might try to win it outright, but I wouldn't see the logic behind playing all-out to shut down the other team. I think tactical mistakes are almost called for in a matchup like this. Either way, it'll be fun to watch!

Hell. We're a team from Lima, which is in Peru, South America, you can't expect me to keep these African names straight! : )

We're underrated. kidballer5, you think we'll be blown out by seventeen. Look at the matchup.

Overall: Sahara 36, South Africa 36
Receiving: Sahara 30, South Africa 30
Blocking: Sahara 39, South Afirca 36
Rush Defense: Sahara 33, South Africa 33
Passing: Sahara 42, South Africa 39
Rushing: Sahara 30, South Africa 33
Pass Defense: Sahara 30, South Afirca 27
Kicking: Sahara 48, South Afirca 48.

Now what do you say? The only advantage they have is Rushing, while Sahara has better Blocking, Passing, and Pass Defense.

should be a good game, and it'll mean a lot to this conference. winner of this game has the advantage to get the number one seed for the playoffs. good luck to both teams!

this is a common assumption, but really you cant determine much of anything from the default scouting bars... but by actually scouting the game it still should be close...

True
Its the same with people thinking higher leveled players are best
When you should know its the build

Should be a good game

I create miniature models of each player based off of their height/weight out of PlayDoh, then place them on my vibrating electronic football board with a magnet 0.0001mm larger for each str pt and 0.0001 mm lower tp the ground for each speed point. I then simulate the games before making each prediction.
Of course my system is flawed because I cannot calculate team chemistry, and sometimes I have to use marshmallow chunks when my dog eats the foam football, but other than that, it's pretty accurate.

Predicted 34-24, final score 30-20. That's pretty darn close.
I missed the other game; first miss of the year, and my Cheetahs play Tanzania next; who may have poster board material now thanks to my wrong prediction. It should be a great game!

LOL - yeah, um... well... I had a few beers already.
Still, I say my metallic, electronic football game is more accurate than my magical 8-ball. When I asked if Sahara would win, it said "try again later"
