Trump is a combination of arrogant and corrupt. With most Republicans turning on him he will get busted for something and booted, he won't last all 4. The only question is how much damage can he do before he's out.

They can start impeachment any day they want. Trump has already broken Constitutional Law and continues to every day, and I'm not talking about his efforts to silence the press.
We probably just have to wait until the RNC sees in numbers that Trump is going to cost them both Houses, and then voila, as if they were visited from angels from Heaven above, the Repub leadership will start impeachment hearings to distance themselves from Trump. In the hopes of keeping their own jobs and leadership positions.
Most likely scenario imo.

ban refugees until they can properly be vetted? I agree with that
ban people from certain countries from entering regardless of their status? dumb

ban refugees until they can properly be vetted? I agree with that

I don't think that a 2-year vetting is what went on with Syrian refugees
If someone is "properly" vetted (loose term, I know), then fine
edit - to your point, in most cases, we ignore existing laws in this country, if, just enforced, would be fine
