No, but buying flex earns you just one extra Free player and one extra PUP player for free.

They are indefinite, but you are allowed one free player and one free pickup player at a time. Once that player has run its course you are able to make another free player.

If you purchase additional flex I believe that opens up the free player option, making one regular player free so you don't have to spend flex on him.
