I started playing glb just over 8 years ago and only played a few seasons before moving on to another game. Years passed and I recently returned to game only to find there is a part 2. I currently play glb classic and glb2; I like glb1 waaaay more than glb2 so far, but one thing I cannot find in glb2 is my players equipment. Where can I locate my players equipment?

Also, is it just me or is glb2 far inferior to glb1? I realize glb1 doesnt have many players left and the population is low, but is the glb2 population much better?

Recap:

1) Where's my equipment located in glb2?
2) Which do you like better out of glb1 and glb2?
3) How is the population of glb2 in comparison to the glb1 population?

Thank you in advance for any and all replies.

Thanks, guys. I have been looking all over for my equipment (helmet, gloves, body, feet, custom, endorsement) and can finally stop looking now that I know it was taken out in glb2.

Glb vs. Glb2 which do you like better and which one(s) do you play? What makes the version you like better than the other?

I play both glb1/glb2 (albeit newb, but I play) and personally would rather play glb over glb2 because I feel that the interface is more user friendly, the game performance for glb is better than glb2 (less load time/lag), your career player requires more daily attention in glb than glb2 (there's more to do), the diversity of created players in glb can be much more unique than in glb2 (glb2 created players feel more confined and more cookie cutter with less opportunity to be a unique build that others do not have), and while I like the pick up player for learning and practicing to make builds in glb2,it feels like cheating. It seems as if the pick up player contributes to the cookie cutter builds and takes the guess work out of creating a player.

I have only played glb2 for about 10 days now and am still really newb to it, so I may be completely uninformed and ignorant to some of these things.. please correct me if I am wrong.

What do you mean by cookie cutter. I don't believe it is at all. There are tons of different directions you can go, all of which can be successful if you combine game plan with builds.
Build your team properly and you can do whatever you want with it.

I prefer GLB2, but if they could find a middle ground more favored to GLB2 style. That would be great.

As of right now, the game is decent but is too much of a money grabber. They need to make the game more affordable to general public, I believe that is the biggest setback in it's expansion. Too many new people get here, put money in it immediately, they aren't close to being a top team and boom they are gone.

I hope you do and am looking forward to it. I have seen/read some of your posts in the glb1 forum and would like to hear what you think.

By cookie cutter I mean identical builds. I didnt realize glb was such a money grabber, but I also haven't played for a really long time and can't remember if I ever bought flex or not. However, as soon as I rejoined the game I deposited $25 to buy flex with.. so I'm thinking you are spot on with that observation.
I noticed you brought up making your own team and assigning playbooks/etc, but I am more interested in the comparison of building players and not teams. When glb first came out there were only so many teams available and people that wanted to buy a team were put on a waiting list, so I never got in to running a team... only built players. From a team building stand point (which I know nothing about) glb2 seems to have a lot more to offer.

Won't finish

That doesn't surprise me, within minutes of first logging in and navigating around I could tell there was a performance issue with glb2. Glb classic definitely runs cleaner..

GLB2 hands down. You have a much greater variety of builds in GLB2.

Running a team is where all the fun is in GLB2. You can always gets a new team next season.

Even just for building players. If you are active in the Forums, you can communicate with someone that is a team owner, or GM, or any kind of coach for the team that you will joining. Communicate on the style of gameplan so you know if your player will fit the scheme or if you should join a different team.

GLB Classic, I believe I was there for season 1 and on for quite a few seasons. Both player and owner. I quit playing couple seasons after they integrated the player equipment. I remember that you would train, train, train, and train some more before you ever actually got into assigning points if you wanted to be a top player. Overall GLB Classic was too repetitive and easy. Ran they same offense and defense every game and killed people with Speed deep.

GLB2 they are way more directions you can go to be successful, and yet whatever way you go there are teams out there that matchup and game plans will beat you. Player building has different directions you can go.

I know I seem to keep repeating myself. But overall, I have got to say GLB Classic is far more "Cookie Cutter" than GLB2. GLB Classic in my opinion is for the more casual football fan cause you can just plug and play with whatever player, while GLB2 is for the Deeper Football fans that take it to another level who care about the true strategic aspect of the game.

Oh did I say tonight? I meant Monday Afternoon. This is a great illustration of my opinion though...

They designed GLB2 to be MUCH more friendly to the casual agent. GLB Classic was so time intensive that a lot of people burnt out in 10 seasons. Then factor in that if you did miss a few days that your builds would, for the most part, be effed in the A.

In GLB2 you can leave the game for a year and come back with useful players, you can advance a player to the next tier if he isn't caught up and you can build pickup players that can be any level you need in less than two weeks.

The player building is very different between the two. In Classic, you have 8 or 9 skills to build up but most builds used 4-6. You get "ALG's" (Auto Level Gains) every time you level up a player. This requires you to get skills past a "cap" (Where a skill's cost go from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 and so on...) before you level up to get the most out of ALG's. Very time sensitive. Also what makes the builds more diverse were the SA trees and Archetypes, something GLB2 doesn't have.

In GLB2 it is much more relaxed in the player building department but also goes into more detail. We have been playing this for 3 years and still are finding out new ways to build.

But the biggest factor for me is how easy GLB2 is to use on my phone. I haven't had a laptop for 3 years now...

Both games have their ups and downs but I feel I get the best bang for my buck here on GLB2. Both games were way more fun when there were more people. The forums were full of smack talk and the Championships meant a lot more. GLB Classic's forums do have the better smack talk/troll factor, so they got that going for them.

As for equipment, that was one of the things they saw as an unnecessary time hog. I liked it but it also caused problems between agents. The MVP gear was a point of contention on the forums on a regular basis.

Truthfully I miss promotions tho. I wish you got 2 games where you could get plus five percent skills on one player a season and 2 games where you could get plus 2 percent to your entire defense per season.
