Everybody is complaining that the gravitational nerf destroyed passing teams and make them morale spiral out of control. Why was this change even made? Was it suppose to help nerf the meta HBs? If so, how was this suppose to nerf the meta HBs?

Yea im not sure how a nerf to power running fucked up passing so bad but it did. GLB2 tried to fix it but their fix fell short. They need to keep trying atleast

Morale is really important for teams with passing leans or pure passing. When things are good they are good but as soon as things go south (a KL, PD, sack) they can spiral to a low point pretty fast. Balanced teams with META HBs are able to prop up their team morale with a killer rushing attack and keep the chains moving. Those without or simply leaning more toward the pass suffer serious spiral issues. Just my take on passing though. The gravitational change is a good one IMO as it should have been lessened. Passing simply needs to be able to bounce back better and not be completely destroyed for quarters or halves so that teams that do rely more on the pass are able to still compete.

I'm curious what the heart is on the WRs and QBs whose teams are going into the death morale spiral. I too like the gravitational nerf. Maybe this uncovered a bigger issue...agents are disregarding heart in their builds. This change will make teams invest more in heart.
Now I remember why they nerfed gravitation. Because people were complaining that HBs do not have to invest in many skills, but if gravitation was nerfed, HBs would have to start investing in heart. Well, that doesn't seem to be the case. HBs do not get penalized nearly as much as WRs/QBs for bad plays.

This. Rushing has always controlled morale. It's why the rushing teams can put complete best downs on teams before they even used the gravitational pull on morale. The rush eventually beat the passing teams down to the point they couldn't outscore them. Now that you have a huge gravitation it lends to passing sucking immediately after one bad drive.

Yea and that's where the problem is. 1 bad drive should ruin a whole for pass first teams. One bad run drive doesn't kill rushing teams.

Not really. I'm pretty sure people are complaining about this:
- Increased effects of pressure/consistency to be more impactful
...rather than this:
- Morale gravitation effect reduced significantly

Mixture of both actually. Together it's bad.

Morale gravitation effect reduced significantly cuts both ways. Are you saying that offenses staying at high morale levels easier is making passing worse?

It's just much easier for passing to go south. My guess is that there are more "bad play" opportunities for passing offenses. KLs, PDs, drops, air balls that are nowhere near receivers, sacks and so on. No idea if all of the listed stats cause a heart roll or not but for HBs their specific heart checks are fumbles, tfls I am guessing. Quite a difference is suspected "bad plays for individuals" Additionally, today's HBs are more about physical skills that rely less on morale/heart.

He reduced the effects but it's still showing to be a detriment from last season on passing. The mix of both changes killed any sort of consistency on the passing game making running even more the meta.

There being less morale gravitation wouldn't make it easier for passing to go south.
The problem is that passing is tough right now at 50 morale, the starting level. This has to be because of the pressure/consistency changes.
Less morale gravitation is actually helping passing, because you need >50 morale for it to work like it used to, and it is easier to stay above 50 now with less pull back down to 50.
Sure, if it is below 50, there is less push back up to 50, but that doesn't really matter right now because 50 doesn't seem to be enough morale to catch a pass.

That can't be true because morale not moving back to 50 as fast as before would increase consistency considering morale isn't going to change as fast as it did last season. It is going to be more consistent, not less.

The bottom line is once it goes south it gets really bad. Morale gravitation or not makes no difference to me as I can see the reasoning behind either argument. I agree that passing needs to be better with the lower morale though. Better passing between 25-60 morale or whatever might allow teams that lean toward the pass to dig themselves out of holes.
