I played this game for the first few seasons and became bored with it. I'm wanting to try it out again, though. So, what do I need to know and when should I build a player?

You can build a player whenever you want, you can build them so they're caught up with current players, and if you miss a game and end up behind, you can catch up at the end of the season.

As far as what to know, just know that you can drop your initial attributes below 5 when building players.

High Conditioning(90+) is key to making a great ball carrier. All other positions, aside from lolkickers and lolpunters, should shoot for 65+.

We severely overestimated the importance of quickness/footwork on RBs. The top HB in the game right now has base level in both.

Balanced offenses can hold their own much more easily now

Rblk Tech>Rblk Power

75+ Speed is a must on all receivers so they have a chance on 3rd down

Running is the current Meta, so build your defense to defend the pass understanding that there will be an inevitable meta shift. Really I'll let someone else fill you in on defense cuz I suck. Welcome back!

Well, I like fast players. And I had a speedy WR that did well in the very early seasons. Maybe I'll go that route again?

I know this sounds stupid, because it did to me when I first started. Its ass backwards from GLB logic. But high stamina is a must.

I'm going to create a couple of speedy WRs because I like speedy WRs. They may suck, but I'm sure I'll be learning things. If anyone wants one, let me know. If not, I'll just have them on some CPU teams gaining XP.

Is this game like GLB in the sense that I can sign with a CPU owned team now and then sign up with a human team if one wants one of my WRs?

Not totally convinced you need 65+ conditioning on all positions. Some, sure, I'm with you. But others I'd rather have depth and use attributes to get other skill caps higher. I'd love to have 65+ on all positions, but for some I don't think it makes sense unless he's a Superstar.

Im starting to think I need 65+ for everyone. atleast until everyone on GLB is building 80+ stamina guys, then ill start building different builds to take advantage of it.

You know how it is, the meta gets created when someone pushes something ridiculously high or low. Then everyone else jumps in and opportunities arise to take advantage of the over-investment. I'm starting to regret not resetting my team earlier because I feel even stronger about what needs to be done to take advantage of this.

the min/max is so crazy right now that it just works out that you can do that pretty much without consequence.

I am going to self promote, but I would really check out http://www.glb2scout.com

At least for the player building function it is pretty powerful. I leave it to the guys that use the tool to speak on how good or bad it is, but I would think it worth checking out as it could save you a ton of time.
