We now know how to get his attention. Go to GD and disagree with him then throw in some questions/suggestions while he is vulnerable. Spread the word men!!

P&R is also a good place to catch CD sleeping on the job.

if we have over 400 plays. maybe make those 400 plays work in the sim. Right now they don't work for shit, Maybe increase the repeat play penalty or something. Now is not the time to sit on your hands.

Wish they would at least run some major server side analysis on the 380 never used plays. Not very practical for us to spend thousands of flex running scrims to analyze what is going wrong there (even though most of the time it seems automatic sacks are the issue)

This. We don't "need" new plays, just need the game mechanics fixed where it helps. The QB pocket movement fix a couple seasons ago, for example, really helped. Things like better defensive pathfinding, better QB logic(really needed), etc., would make some plays effective. The ability to change the passing target has been useful, and perhaps allowing more things like that could help. When you have a formation like 5WR that's useless, that speaks to game mechanics(perhaps allowing us to choose tight/normal/spread OL would help guard against blitz happy defenses). When zone defenses are ineffective(sorry GE...), that speaks to game mechanics. The consistent theme seems to be the AI of the players. Not sure what the code fix for it is, but a collective Toon IQ boost would do wonders for plays that currently are ineffective.

Don't want to dump on Bort/CD though because they've made some great changes the past few seasons.

Agree... just fix the current plays

Best way to do it!

Well, a huge chunk of the defensive plays are broken. Corndog could make them "new" again by fixing the broken mechanics within those plays.

There's also the offensive play totals. Sure, there are a bunch, but most of these plays fit in the 2WR defensive playbook grouping.

Singleback Big (2TE) and Singleback Spread (4WR) have very few plays among them. Diamond (2WR) doesn't have directional balance with it's rushing attack. It's supposed to highlight the FB position, but it clearly doesn't. There are misdirection opportunities there that aren't being used.

Pretty much this. But also I'm sure it's not easy to make these adjustments that are needed to fix the plays that we do have, without just making an arse of another aspect of the code.

It's not easy to stay in your unbroken box that works perfectly well to win at the game You have to balance lots of things really well and take on all-comers to get even an iota of respect. There are many players and agents who by now know how to game the game with their choices. And game each other.

I understand Vet level has been starved of innovation and new blood, but coming through are some younger active and healthy leagues who are gaming the game in other ways. I'm really enjoying the variety and the similarity I'm seeing in Soph and having a blast with what we have. (I have no idea how this compares with the current Vet game) Teams are fitting themselves around the game in interesting ways which keeps it interesting to play, the coaches and owners give a care and the competition is intense. What more do you want out of what is meant to be a casual MMO?

Breaking the box in order to fix it is inadvisable.

The changes Bort and CD have made in recent seasons have made many things work for the better and there's another mystery dynamic to fester about with play knowledge.

I try to enjoy the things I spend my money on. The game delivers on many levels. Beta went to what, Season 34 in GLB1? We're only half way through the Beta process if we take equal measure. Actually, are we out of Beta now? Did I get a little achievement? Anyway, experience of WG would tell me to expect them to do what they're going to do. They always fulfill my expectations.

It's saddening that the reasoning all the formations can't have mirrored runs to both sides is because hey we have too many plays.

That being said player building needs a new element of some sort. The HB builds running around are pretty laughable for what it takes to be a stud. The min/max has gotten a bit out of hand since the conditioning realization.

I don't know exactly how to fix that but the game needs a fresh wrinkle to bottle up the meta again.

Anything towards the direction of that or new plays is a good direction IMO.
