I want to make a toon but what gives?

How about starting with a job so you can purchase some flex?

Make your free player.

You can take things below 5 to raise other things if it helps more and you will always want to.

Make sure you add to key skills early and often. Do not spread points around in everything.

Pick one ability and get it to silver at least. And make sure said ability fits your build.
