Even if you have only had middling success with making Scat HB or FB, can you give some advise? (Not just build advise, but even tactics and offensive design.)

With the progression changes this should definitely be expiremented with again. I've tried it in the past but the plays sucked back then.

This, plays and progressions are horrible, plus HB's running routes in GLB2 are a lot slower than GLB1 HB's running routes which kind of sucks against the blitz.

Likely adding a S* scatback next season to my rookie team. Should work well with mobile QBs who like to dump off

Do you think Scat HB work better as Slippery or Pow?

I would say power as the catch in stride ability works of balance that goes well with power. Thats just my thought though on a scatback i did a while back but as the above from Mile says the routes for HB's are pretty bad

Hey thx. I hear you about how scat backs are really limited, but I still want to try it. Controlling progressions might make some of the plays better as well.

Can I see your build?

100 sprinting/80 Conditioning/70 Receiving Hands would be a must IMO.

That player would make the HB routes look a lot better.

For a power scatback I would heavily focus around Gold YAC. Mainly because it's easy to load up carry awareness, balance, and power running for a HB. The added benefit is it may open up HB screens plays if he's able to fight off initial tackles. Then you can add Gold Power Through and CiS. The extra benefit is he'll still be a monster running the ball too.

I've been testing a PuP power scatback, and so far the results have been lukewarm in pickup games. But....he's only in Seasoned, and the play calling is bad in pickups. I may end up converting him to a regular player and placing him on my seasoned squad so I can see what he does on screens and HB flats. http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/214361

For a speed scatback I would probably roll something close to what DeeVee posted. Balance is still king for receivers, IMO, due to the YAC it yields. So Gold CiS first. Not quite sure where to go after that, perhaps First Step. This type of build will require good play selection, but a legit speed scatback would have a major advantage against most linebackers trying to cover them. Against blitzing defenses I imagine they could be pretty deathly.

I too have begun testing a PuP power scatback and have similar results. But I don't take much of those games into account and am just building him up for a higher tiered team. I agree with your assessment for the keys to the build, but am curious about speed scat and after CiS am unsure for SAs and not even sure how much receiving skills he will need, esp after Bort et al improved catching behind LOS.

I know, I know. I haven't put much into receiving skills yet, was looking more to see how well he broke tackles.

But I've been pumping his receiving skills the last few games and plan on doing that till he's converted.

For receiving skills, a speed scatback is going to be used more downfield than a power scat, ideally anyway. So I wpuld try to squeeze as many SP into them as I could.....after factoring in the physicals like speed/quickness/conditioning/balance. The one big benefit of a speed scat is that you can pretty much avoid spending anything on power/elusive running.

Would love to see more screens used in PuP games. http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/311006/2936913

Most of the screens I see result in sacks, probably because of CPU QBs, but maybe also because of CPU OL.
