My DE has no zone awareness skill. He drops into zone on several plays.

It allows you to play linebackers at DE. Not sure if they suffer a big OOP penalty though.

What the what? That answer has nothing to do with my post.

Why doesn't my DE have a zone awareness skill? He plays positions where he drops into zone coverage from the DE position.

If you need Pass coverage from DE, sub in the LB, I think that is what doobas was saying. I wouldn't want to us skills toward zone awareness on my DE, but thats obviously my opinion. But I could see where it may come in handy, but how many times are you dropping you DE in coverage?

About 80% of the time vs a 2 WR set, I run this play:

So I want my DE to play DE. Zone awareness is not only awareness vs the pass, it also helps recognize a running play when playing zone.

So does anybody know what the default skill point is for a skill that doesn't exist on a player's build?

Really it is just a base value...anywhere between 9-14 I would assume.

Well that sucks.

I don't think DeeVee is right. Just from watching OOP players in PUGs, they do pretty well to just be playing with base values. Could be wrong, but quite frankly ST would be a total shit show if players without blocking skills were playing with single digits block tech.

I think DeeVee is probably close to right. Create a player and don't apply any SP and you'll see that all the skills generally fall in the 9-18 range. And those are just the skills that are natural to the position.

But a defensive player can hold a block on ST. Put an OL with zero investment in blocking skills in and they can't.
