I'm talking full balls to the wall blitzers with as close to possible 100 sprint/quick/cond, max pass power(prob 40/50s), then gold FS, TV. They are sent off the edges 100% of the time, with every other defender a run focused build.

Gotta have Coverage LB's.. IMO. Honestly, I don't know if I'll ever make a run stop LB. My Coverage LB hybrid is killing it stopping the run. (Although if I had to redo him, I'd crank up the tackling abilities just a little bit - the major power HB's still plow through him).

Do you mean 2 LBs on the entire roster? And then all your DL and DBs run stop?

you wont be able to crank up run stopping enough for S* power backs unless you have a run stopping backer

Probably a good point. What about a Superstar LB? You think there are enough points there to cover both?

I wouldn't waste a S* LB on blitzing the QB.

I wouldn't waste a S* on any situational player.

That too.

Not sure how this would work.

What do you need two S* Blitzers for? There's very few effective plays that blitz two people who can actually reach the QB - ZEB, 3-4 OLB Blitz, 4-4 Big Man OLB Blitz are the ones that come to my head (3-3-5 Over Will doesn't count because the MLB isn't actually ever getting to the QB).

Assuming you're running ZEB, one of your LBs is playing man on the TE. So you would really need a coverage LB.

A better question is if you could get away with one blitzing LB and one coverage LB.

Also for those saying no S* on situational players, I don't consider a blitzing LB a situational player... he can be used against all teams except possibly pure run teams (and even then you can still use him in certain situations). SACKS has had a S* blitzing LB who has been amazing.

itt: a player that you can only use in one situation is not a situational player.

Well then you blitz more often if you have a S* Blitzer. Just like you play more cover 0 or cover 1 when you have a S* SS or play more cover 2 when you have a S* coverage LB. I wouldn't expect someone who doesn't actually DC to understand though.

You cut me to the quick, sir.

Meanwhile, back in the land of people that can read good and do other stuff good too, we wouldn't expect someone who doesn't actually understand the English language to understand though.

That was a run-on sentence.

Absolut Vodka has 3 speedy linebackers that are rotated through on blitzing plays. ZEB and Over Will are used frequently. Keep in mind, they don't boost, so they're a bit behind everyone else.

My defense performs better when I blitz then when I don't, but isn't that sort of to be expected? I'm thinking of switching up some of my default non-blitzing plays, maybe my D might perform a bit better once I do so.

lets say you just did ZEB every play, I'm saying even if that LB is lined up in man vs a TE, you make him a run stopping build. The only pass defense you rely on are the 2 S*Blitz LBs getting to the QB.
