How important is footwork for OL?

Would it be more important than balance?

For a pulling OT and G I would say yes(outside running team). 50-60 FW is worth it with 30-40 speed. For passing teams it isnt as necessary imo, around 30-40 footwork with little to no speed. Balance is okay around 50 for OTs and Gs and 70+ for Cs who face those beast DTs more often.

Passing needs more Footwork, particularly at certain positions. All Pass Blockers do is backup and turn.

OTs need high Footwork.

RG needs high Footwork to pickup the blitzing RO on Over Will.

IMHO at least.

Everyone needs Balance. Your player isn't very effective on the ground.

Balance, toughness, conditioning, heart, intimidation, and snap awareness saves my QB from those hits. Unfortunately, he is a timid one so he ends up blowing the chance the OL gives, but the backs and our overall passing game thrive well with these as the highest priority. I mean you won't see your gaurds throwing people around like a sock doll, but they'll definitely not be flying around like a sock doll.
