Just based on the skills available, building a kicker shouldn't be that hard. Why do kickers miss sooooo much?

I was thinking about doing "The Great Kicking Experiment"tm next season. Making a bunch of kickers with different skills, to see if something effects their accuracy that we arent seeing.

I can't for the life of me figure it out. I understand that in kicking there are chances of boning one up, especially when the game is on the line or in high pressure situations. This game just seems so random. Are there factors that affect the kickers morale? Is there a wind factor in the game we don't see?

It has been said(by agents) that kicks can't be blocked but kickers can be hurried by guys getting close before the kick. If that's the case then your best pass rushers should be in on kicks to fully exploit it. It's all speculation though. Bort should just add hurries to the play description so people will be all like, " OHHHH That's why..."

That's interesting. I need to look back at replays and see if there is a dude coming up the middle when we miss.

Yeah, I'm not sure I believe that. Have seen guys run through the placeholder before the kick and the K makes the FG.

The answer is yes.

My K and P right now both have EB and are going to have SP in pretty much everything to see if anything helps improve accuracy over a straight accuracy build.

I've heard footwork matters, but no verifiable data or facts to back it up.

Here's a prime example of what I am talking about:

Our sophomore kicker: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/177696

Early in the game he misses a 24 yarder early in the game in a no pressure situation: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/242669/2778563
:01 left in the 4th quarter and he drills a 40 yarder to send us to OT: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/242669/2780452

Str: 7
Spd: 8
Agi: 9
Sta: 1
Awa: 1
Con: 9

Kick Accuracy:53
FG Power: 51
Kick Consistency: 46
