Is Intimidation on pass-rushers actually a bad thing in excess since it makes the QB feel pressure earlier? I'd rather get the sack than get the hurry.

What I'm kind of wondering is whether higher intimidation would cause the QB to get rid of the ball earlier or if it just causes the throws under pressure to have an even bigger penalty.

Interesting...

I'm not a defensive guy but it powers trash talk and that lowers the QBs moral so I'm sure intimidation does the same to a smaller degree...whether it causes the QB to throw sooner I'm not sure.

Doesn't toughness kinda counteract intimidation

Intimidation is mitigated by Toughness....however most pocket QB's rarely have more than 30 Toughness, so 50 Intimidation while hurrying a QB is prob a good thing to force an early off track pass.

More often than not early throws are off-target throws. Forcing an incomplete pass is just as good as a sack in my book.

I see just as many completions after "QB was hurried" then passes where a QB is not hurried. So is a hurried pass really that penalized?

Could be because generally on hurries there is a blitz coming - which means more 1 on 1 coverage
