Bort and Cdog:

Guys, it's time. Please. Create a public, standard, predictable process regarding new season code changes.

Post your intentions at the latest on the first morning of the off-season. This is just another reason I suggested having seasons end in off days rather than on Ladder game days. You need a clean day to post upcoming changes. We need a final off day to look at season ending stats and finalize rosters, etc. We want to prepare for the coming season, test the changes and provide feedback.

We need you and you need us.

I know coding doesn't always happen on time. (You should read our scrum channel in Slack. ). It's difficult. Adding something breaks something else. Making a change to existing code can break other things. It's a reality that can't be ignored. So don't. Incorporate that into the plan.

But keeping us, your customers, your fans, informed during the offseason needs to be a paramount concern.

If there are more upcoming changes, we need to know ASAP.
If you've decided to hold off on the changes until next season (possible), then please let us know that. ASAP

Thank you.

I don't remember such little communication between devs and users in this game before. This isn't a recon mission where radio silence is key. We need some news/updates/etc.

Ya - something strange it seems.

- some changes announced
- announced by CD that some of the tweaks were inverted (or whatever)
- Bort will fix it when he wakes up
- there are more planned changes coming
- a few days of nothing and the season starts

something must be going on. Has also made for the least interesting / least active / most boring forums of any offseason that I can recall as well. Normally offseason is exciting - new changes - new season - new everything...but not this time.

This game is pretty much dead to me. Pretty sad reality

understood yes - but you then posted something was wrong with the formula or whatever -- was that corrected?

you also mentioned there were more changes planned (I understand planned isn't the same is "will be done") - I guess something came up and those were put on hold?

I told the only people who knew about it that it would be fixed when bort woke up

I don't think that requires a changelog update.

A "Fixed" comment somewhere would be nice.

I ran a scrim yesterday to see if any of the shorter passes were working better with the awareness change. I didn't notice that. I continued to notice that long passes were still the way to go.

Well clearly it required some form of communication other than silence.

I bet the rate of scrims this offseason plummeted from people assuming things were still broken due to a lack of an update on the situation.

What sucks is I think this same issue has been discussed in a lot of different ways on these forums.

1. There are a lot of things that can be done to make this game better (including communication)
2. The warrior general team has other priorities and doesn't feel the effort is worth the reward
3. The user population is decreasing each season

Unless there are some serious changes made the game will die.

I believe the user base is fading from a perceived lack of effort and care from the devs. Users want their faith renewed in the game. Lack of communication, lack of updates, lack of goals and ideas for the future of the sim...these things hurt a users ability to see that the devs are as interested in the future of the game.

All true, but did Bort ever wake up? There was no confirmation it was actually done which is what is missing. Don't get me wrong I understand the challenge, and no it doesn't require a changelog update as it wasn't indicated in the changelog there was an issue, but a simple update to that thread of changes are in, please confirm working would have been ample.

Transparency can go a ton and you know that, and I actually commend you coming out of the shadows when you do and I know it tears you down each and every time due to the negative response the majority of the time. It takes a different mentality individual that can skirt all the bs that gets dished out, while still being motivated to engage.

You guys run the game/company how you want, I am not dictating or even suggesting how to do it, but what I do know is public perception is not very high right now. You can fix that, but it takes a bit of patience and communication.

/soapbox

Just hoping on some change in the future.

Was something changed after the initial post? Isn't that what a changelog is for? To log all the changes?

Something like "fixed some inverted formulas that were introduced with the latest update" would have been all it took to sooth the tens of people left.

Seriously. Ten words. That's all.

Edit: And by the way it clearly wasn't fixed.
