Can someone explain these to me? The description seems like one helps with cuts... but only the other "makes them successful".

I don't get it.

I believe tech is how well they execute their routes, and elusiveness is how well they can fake out defenders while running their routes.

Yeah, that's my understanding as well. If you don't have RT, the receivers can get stuck in mud while running. RE seems to affect how well defenders react to the receiver as he does each break in his route.

The big problem (I think) with RE is that the Defensive Counter to getting faked is Man Awareness.

This isn't a problem except for the relative SP cost.

Defenders can pump Man Awareness to 75-100 pretty cheaply; as long as they have good caps. RE is expensive.

Thus with fixed SP pools for both players, investing in RE to beat Man Awareness is a losing game. IMHO

Yep, this is the big point.
If you want to go all in on head fake, you need 85+ route tech and 90+ route elusiveness. It's near impossible to meet those goals on a conventional WR, so it's not worth chasing. A S* can hit those levels without being hobbled. But RE really shouldnt be touched on a non S*, it's simply too expensive and too easily countered, most every CB is at 80+ man awareness easily at very little cost. And even if it's a S* WR, if you aren't aiming for gold Head Fake RE should still be left untouched. It's only worth is to fire Head Fake on a shifty S* WR.
