Doing my best GE impression here, but I thought I would put together a thread highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of Zone. I'll start by posting the results of 15 Scrims I have ran in the past 2 days. The teams I scrimed as far as I know did not gameplan so that needs to be taken in account.

Logzilla x 5 - 1-4
Bronx x 4 - 0-4
Music City Miracle x 2 - 1-1
Robot Lords of Tokyo x 1 - 1-0
Madison Bulldogs x 1 - 1-0
Djibouti Assassins x 2 - 2-0

Overall - 6-9 - Pretty terrible W/L record, but for the most part offense kept me from winning more games.

4 Big Gains (>10 Yards)

At the end of last season dropping into a Cover 4 and the occasional Cover 3 Sink was the best way to go. If you tried any Cover 2 stuff you got abused over the top. That doesn't seem to be the case with the new changes, Cover 2 seems to be the best option now. Cover 3 Sink would be a great option but the Nickel Formation is the only good one out there now. Hopefully we can get Corndog or Bort to add one in from the Dime Formation.

Cover 2 - ~54% Completion
Cover 3 Sink - 57% Completion
Cover 4 - ~65% Completion

Since I'm in rookie, it will take a while before I can truly test the new zone system out. I like it so far, especially the int rate.

Wow nice play.

Isn't Eyes on the Prize supposed to last only 3 seconds?

Yea 3 is max, looked like it was active (at least the tooltip) for at least 5 seconds that play.

Hum, if this happens every time the INT is made it makes Pick Six even less attractive, not that it was attractive in the first place.
Devs should prob delete it it's pretty much a noob trap.

Thought I would update this thread with some different comparisons I've been running over the past 3 days. Everyone knows that Deep Zone Logic is by far it's biggest weakness, you play any team that runs Zone and you throw it deep every play you will most likely win and win easily. Here is some data on just how bad it really is though.


4 Games of Zone Coverage: (Omitted the largest blowout loss because it was really bad)

60% Completion Rate, 2 Sacks, 2 Forced Fumbles, 7 INTs, 10 Knocked Loose, 32 Deflections, 20 Drops, 24 TDs Allowed
Logzilla Offense: 287 Pass Attempts


4 Games of Man Coverage: All Man Base Plays, No Deep Zone, No Underneath Zone

46% Completion Rate, 6 Sacks, 4 Forced Fumbles, 6 INTs, 19 Knocked Loose, 36 Deflections, 22 Drops, 11 TDs Allowed
Logzilla Offense: 293 Pass Attempts

This is against fully built Zone defenders, no one on the team has higher than 20 Man Awareness. Most defenders have less than 30 Coverage Technique, all have decent INT and Deflection.

If your guys have less than 30 Cov Tech then they are not fully built Zone defenders. But I see your point.

You've never made it past journeyman. Get a grip.

Nobody really knows exactly what every attribute does, but please stop going around acting like everything you say is fact. You have had zero success in this game, so please stop feeding everyone nonsense.

I have a zone team coming up the ranks. No coverage tech at all across the entire D and we have the #3 pass defense in the tier plus a turnover differential of +16, which is double everyone else.
