Is Heart more or less valuable after the recent change to start at 50? I thought it would be less valuable because morale will always "gravitate" towards 50. So if you spend a ton of SPs in Heart, it will only go back down to 50 after while. I might be changing my mind now because I see some teams with players who stay in the 80-90 range. I'm still a little fuzzy on how all that works.

It made it more valuable along with the morale assualting SAs IMO.
Teams that used to maintain 100 morale easily before without heart because "winning" can't do that anymore. Heart wasn't really helpful when it added morale from good events when you were already at 100. Same thing with SAs that'd buff your heart. It was purely a defensive skill, meant to protect you from the damages suffered from failing/losing. Skilling/SAing "defensively" hasn't ever been a very strong way to build in GLB or GLB2. Better to build to win rolls than to build to protect against losing rolls and such.
With the change to the 50 morale start/gravitation, you can use heart offensively on a build to enhance your other skills by lifting your guy up off the 50 morale starting point.
All that stuff has real power now in being able to assist you with enhancing your relative morale gap vs your opponent. Most of the best teams have at least somewhat of a team-wide strategy for maintaining their morale and attacking the morale of their opponent. Heart, Toughness, Intimidation, and SAs all have big roles to play on various positions.

Ok...thanks. I think that is part of my offensive problem. I recently started pumping intimidation along my line, which has helped in pancakes. Now I need to pump heart. I don't have more than 20 heart on any of my offensive players accept my QB right now.
Every time I look up, my offensive players are always under 50 morale.

Toughness might also help reduce Morale loss? Anyways, Heart is definitely useful. More heart reduces the penalties from poor plays and increases the benefits of positive plays.
Since you're both starting at 50 morale, a positive play has a double impact on morale. Decreases theirs while increasing yours. Before you'd start at 100, so all that would happen is a decrease of their morale since yours can't go higher than 100.

Too bad heart doesn't have any effect on how tolerant players are to showboat, and that's probably your main issue considering the fact you're a run team.

Nope, but it can counteract the morale lost indirectly through quarter changes and positive game events.

GE is the only guy I know of who's trying desperately to sacrifice his team's future for winning right now, while still failing to win right now.
