A solid batch of games. Loving the ELO reset!

#1 Ground Assault vs #5 Djibouti Assassins

A marquee matchup. GA and DA are facing off for the first time ever. GA hasn't been tested much against the pass but did a solid job against DD. DA recently held Richmond to a low offensive output. I'm not entirely sure what to expect, but I would think both teams will hold each other down decently well.

#2 Madison Bulldogs vs #7 Doinitin Djibouti
Parab00n vs Titty. Tdiddy began the offseason thinking he had the #1 spot locked up, then shit hit the fan. No tears are sweeter than Tdiddy tears. Can Madison fight past the adversity and win the #1 spot anyway? They will need to win games like this. DD has a very strong run D, but I haven't heard much about their pass D. This one may come down to coaching, or it may come down to builds, or it may come down to turnovers, or it may come down to RNG. Best case scenario DD wins and Tdiddy starts a GE style "I should have won that game" post.

#2 Flying Spaghetti Monsters vs #9 Richmond Raiders
FSM is a rising star. A team that never dominated their own tier but seemed to get stronger and stronger as they progressed through the ranks. They really hit their stride last season and took another huge step forward this season. Richmond was a newcomer to vet last season and had a number of statement wins against top teams. Richmond's offense has been very inconsistent this season. They are facing the issues that many rushing teams are fighting lately. FSM's offense is good but can occasionally be shut down as well. Both teams have strong defensive coordinators, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a lower scoring grind it out game. This one should be a treat.

#4 Logzilla Boys vs #18 MMA Jesus Christ Superstars
The new kid on the block vs the veteran. Logzilla tells you exactly how they are going to kick your ass before the fight starts and then proceeds to kick your ass. MMA has been hanging around the top of the tier for a while now. Constant roster turnover has been an issue for them, but they have the potential to give any good team a run for their money. They haven't quite gotten it all together this season though so I would give the edge to Logzilla.

#6 Whoville Whos vs #14 Milwaukee Beers

The Beers are like the opposite of FSM. Early domination of their own tier and have fallen off a bit lately. Whoville has been a solid team for a while, but it seems they are starting to get over that hump this season. Due to Whoville's recent rise to success I will guess they put together a good defense that will limit the Beers and pull out a comfortable win.

#8 Default Name vs #22 Veteran #22

Default Name was a bit of an underachiever last season and missed the playoffs entirely. It appears that Stobie is trying a little harder this season. Bhall is still trying to get his offense on track. Unfortunately I think his inconsistent offense mixed with a run stopping defense is a bad combination for the current crop of vet teams. Default pulls this one out.

or chemistry... with two very evenly matched teams, could be the difference-maker

they have 7 defensive INTs in 5 league games which is a bit scary (we have one)... so hoping we keep the turnover battle even.

last years game... could be very similar result this season, with score in the 20s/30s, either team on top - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/171511

GA vs DA {Betting on Rob. & a 98 Run D to stop GA.}
Madison vs DD {Parab00n is a dirty old man just like me. This is a kindred spirits pick.}
FSM vs Richmond {Is FSM great against the Pass but not against the Run? We'll find out.}
Logzilla vs MMA {Have to pick myself but Rob. has done well stuffing my Pass O in other matchups.}
Whoville vs Beers {Whoville just kicked my ass.}
Default vs Veteran #22 {Stobie isn't trying and bhall is; so advantage Stobie??? - sorry bhall - Truthfully I'm really guessing here.}

My picks. {Thanks for the template Para.}

GA vs DA - I've got Tdiddy level concerns about all pass offenses + run stuffing defenses against GA. We've gotten better at moving the ball on the thicker run defenses the last couple of tries, but it's still going to bother me until we beat one of these types of teams this season. The assassins have some pretty saavy coordinators.

Madison vs DD - TDiddy's offense is better. Both are going to blitz the piss out of each other. Tdiddy's blitz is probably better.

FSM vs Richmond - FSM's not a great run stuffing team. Especially when the HBs are fast. Richmond might have the fastest HBs in Veteran. This has shootout written all over it though. You have to respect the screen pass with FSM, so that might give Richmond some trouble defensively.

Logzilla vs MMA - Ranida Phobia might be built well enough to give Xars some trouble, but I don't think MMA has the horses to pull off the blitzes on Logzilla consistently.

Whoville vs Beers - Whoville's playing good defense, but I kinda think the Beers brand of outside running may give them some trouble.

Default vs Veteran #22 - BHall's offense isn't going to be able to keep up. Not enough depth.

My picks.

Funny how different the reactions are. No idea what to expect myself. I'm going into this match not knowing anything about Richmond. I thought they were 100% run, but apparently they throw the ball 13% of the time?

They don't throw the ball often enough for you to ignore their 90+ sprinting HBs on outside runs. It's the same thing as how Tdiddy doesn't run enough for you to bother getting out of your pass defense sets.

Depth has never been an issue. Pretty sure that was proved well enough last season.

That being said it will all depend on whether we show up or not. If USC's qb throws a couple picks it could get out of hand. If not it will be a decent game. Pretty confident in the defense now.

Yeah, you're going to see an increase of a lot. Far better pass defenses this season than normal. Dont even include FSM and I would t even be surprised if that number doubles.

This is what happens when half the ladder isn't gutjobs.

Same thing happens to stixx's qb. Wasn't a problem at all since he hit 100 chem. think it's just a half ass pass block oline and a qb at less than 100 chem. tough to fight the hurries. I'm not too worried tho it will be ok/

No it's a pretty well documented side effect at this point.
