If you post explanation and example -- I'll try to keep this OP updated...and maybe this could be good timing for an offseason tweaking..

go.

Thread Summary:

I Form:
Flares: Needs progression change and label change. Make long play.


Strong I
FB Out - should have TE as first progression - then FB/HB/WR1/WR2
FB Smash - should have progression change to TE/FB/rest


Proset:
HB Double Fly - progression should be TE/HB/WR1/FB/WR2


Diamond:
Pass Plays - need to be added, there just aren't enough


Singleback:
HB Under Out - need progression change with TE first
Z Spot - WR3 route needs to be changed or he needs to be lower on progression


4WR::
- Spread Pitches: have been discussed before - and I think Corndog has said 5-2 blowing up spread pitches pre snap is A-OK. Confirmation would be great though.
- Medium Pass Plays - half could be relabelled as long plays.
- True Medium and Short Plays - need to be added
- Spread Screens - need to be tweaked outside


Running General:
- Balance all formations with off tackles, counters, pitches, sweeps, dives, slams, rollouts to both sides for QB/HB/FG.


Passing General:
- HB/FB Streaks: Should not have HB/FB as 1st option - too slow to develop and be usable.
- HB Screens - need QB to move backward instead of side to side.


Defense:
- Add more Robber options
- Slightly tweak INT rate
- C1 Robber is incorrectly listed as a zone play - please change to man.


General: Simple thing I've heard pitched before which would be amazing - simply reverse every current play - a button to toggle like in madden that flips everything around would instantly add 35% (?) to the plays available.

Off the top of my head, here's one:

Singleback Spread Pitches and Singleback Big Pitches can have the QB be tackled before he even pitches the ball to the RB. At later levels when DT's have much higher snap reaction, speed, quickness, diving, etc, running these plays is an automatic loss of yards before the play's even had a chance to function.

3 solutions that I can think of:

1) Have the backside OT, G, and C slide over one slot to block the closest defender DT to the playside
or 2) Force the pitch to happen earlier
or 3) have the backside OT pull to engage the unblocked playside DT, like so:

I Form -

Flares needs a progression change. It is silly having the first 2 progs be FB and HB there. Should be a long play.
FB Out should be a short play in its place. There is only one route that goes beyond 5 yards.

In fact pretty much anything that is a HB or FB streak should really have their progressions 3rdish because they will never be hit otherwise.

SI Form -

FB Out should have TE as first progression followed by FB, HB, WR1, WR2.
FB Smash should be TE, FB, whatever.

Pro Set -

HB Double Fly should go TE, HB, WR1, FB, WR2

Diamond -

Needs more passing plays, FB outside runs, and off tackles to both sides.

SB Form -

HB Under Out needs to start with the TE.
Z Spot needs to either change WR3's route or put it far down the list of progressions.

Spread form -

Should take half of the medium plays and call them long plays. Then work up some new medium and short plays.

Honestly the 70% of the playbook could used better refined progressions and defined tags (short/medium/long) in order to create a more usable book. I understand the intent that was meant when putting it together but all you created was a lot of unusable plays that never make use of the player it is meant to anyways.

- Beyond that the spread WR screens need some work.

- All the HB screens need some work, starting with making the QB go backwards rather than move side to side into defenders to remove the hurry/insta sack effect and be more effective against the blitz.

- QB Weak off tackles for all formations?

- Balance all formations with (off tackles, counters, pitches, sweeps, dives, slams, rollouts) to both sides (HB/FB/QB). There is entirely no reason not to.

Defensively we are moving in the right direction with these Lurk plays and quick zone blitz's. Next step more robber plays imo. Try and pick up the interception game and it will further dent the underneath madness.

Are the smother plays working properly now? I assume not since I haven't seen any updates to a fix. Has someone been running them?

They already have an extra Robber play in the game, they just need to fix what it's listed as:

C1 Robber is a Man Coverage play that's listed as Zone. Can we get it moved to Man so we can have an easier time calling it with Defensive Tactics?

I always forget about that play. Even still more variations of robbers the better.

Yeah, I'd say reversing those SB spread WR screens would be a good fix for sure.

None of the inside>out WR screens work. They all need to be outside>in screens.

HB/FB Streaks I meant for every formation. They have them as the first progression which means they will never be a useful part of the play.

HB screens was also for every formation. The QB moves sideways on the snap shading into defenders while the oline pulls allowing defenders to come untouched. This allows an insta hurry if not an insta sack to happen. I believe if he went backwards on the snap it would bring the defenders deeper into the pocket allowing the play to actually functionally make sense against a blitz.

Maybe I am in the minority here, but I would rather all of the newer lurk plays be tagged medium zones. Reason being is because most people probably aren't gonna go with medium zones and the lurk plays and use them in different capacities. But not being able to use 2 man under and Man bases with the lurks suck. The lurks leave a man open so using them on early downs is just asking for a beating.
