yo conservatives, i found your copout:
Lang is a smoker who is reported to be "inconsistent in his efforts to control his diabetes."

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Anyway, kind of reiterates the point that the ACA is not about C, it's about I(nsurance). All it did was guarantee him access to insurance, potentially at a reduced cost. He chose not to get insurance mistakenly thinking it guaranteed him access to care.

Lang, 49, believed that the Affordable Care Act, which he did not agree with and decidedly ignored, would still help him in the case of an emergency -- that is, pay his bills. He thought wrong, however, as 2015 enrollment is now closed. And when it comes to private coverage, he now earns too little to receive a federal subsidy to afford it.
As for Medicaid, South Carolina is one of the 17 states that opted out of the Affordable Care Act's Medicaid expansion, making Lang ineligible to receive those benefits.
...
Lang and his wife apparently blame President Barack Obama and Democrats for "passing a complex and flawed bill."
"[My husband] should be at the front of the line, because he doesn't work and because he has medical issues," Mary Lang told the Observer. "We call it the Not Fair Health Care Act."

No cuts and no saves ldo. You leave the line, you have to rejoin at the back. He should get to the front again during the 2016 enrollment period. He should just try really hard not to go blind until then.

Diabetes may take a person's eyesight, but it's apparent the disease does nothing to one's sense of entitlement.

Honestly though, this is actually kind of sad. He is exactly the kind of person the ACA was meant to help.
Yet, he chose to not apply for it because "GO TEAM!", and now he is suffering. And still blaming it on the other team rather than his own ignorance.

And now, the self-proclaimed self-responsibility and self-accountability team is throwing money at him because "GO TEAM!"

Hey, is this the thread where we applaud the suffering of others because they don't vote the same way we do?

No, this is the thread where we facepalm at people making poor decisions because of what team they're on.

Yup. American Politicians have turned the American population into sports fans.
Sure, you may not always be happy with how your team played, but if you don't cheer for them, you don't have a right to criticize.
Fans of a sports team might spend twenty minutes describing how terrible they are, but that doesn't mean that they are going to start cheering for another team.
That's not how politics should be.
