Warrior General Games

Ok. In this thread - you MUST pick the two games you think are most likely to be upsets. Don't think there will be two? Too bad pick 2 anyway.


#1 Porn 21-1-1 vs #13 Santa Fe Gunslingers 16-7 - two high powered passing offenses square off. Santa Fe has won 5 of 6. Porn has hit some bumps in the road lately including an offense that has struggled a bit in a couple of games recently.


#2 Mannheim Steamroller 20-3 vs #3 No Name 20-3 - Dan the Sportsman vs Fair Forever in a battle of single agent teams. Good running team vs a great rushing defense. Great balanced defense vs a good balanced offense. This has the potential to be a good one.


#4 Atlanta Falcons 18-3-2 vs #11 South End Vipers 17-6 - Atlanta has been red hot lately winning 8 in a row. South End is very quietly knocking on the door of the top 10. Robbie and Viper probably haven't had a team sniff the top ten for 8 seasons or so...they must be in a state of shock! Twp pass heavy teams here.


#5 Ashland Dockers 19-3-1 vs #20 Colorado Stoners 14-9 - Great running team vs mediocre-ish passing team. caAn Csbobm wrrk sum of dat cbobm majik?


#6 Arizona State Sun Devils (aka don't call me Arizona) 19-4 vs #14 Legacy 15-7-1 - running team vs balanced team. ASU has beaten some top tier teams. Legacy has generally not.


#7 Salty Runback 19-4 vs #17 EEA 15-8 - Balanced vs all run. Salty has been very strong in every game except against Porn and SCO. EEA has been hit and miss, with some bad losses and some decent wins.


#8 Omaha Beef 18-5 vs #21 Salary Cap Optimization 14-9 - two run heavy squads with decent run defenses. Could this be yet another 3-0 game? Xars vs Duro (Duro - do you do the O and/or D here...or is it always Bhalls?)


#9 I've STILL Never Had Sex 19-4 vs #10 Bloody Slaughterhouse 18-5 - Another run vs pass battle. Can Dredgar shut down the running game? Can the virgins slow down the passing game?

First game has finished...and we have our 1st upset.

#17 EEA beats #7 Salty Runback. The game featured each team missing a FG and each team missing an extra point. EEA was able to break it open on this play in the 3rd quarter: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/180035/2322488

Salty's O was held largely in check in the second half...until their final drive when they suddenly started moving the ball. Salty comes within an inch of scoring the TD to force the game into overtime as time expires.

For the moment, the result of this game is that EEA jumps from 17 to 15 and Salty falls from 7 to 9.

This one was not close. Not nearly as close (imo) as the final score would indicate (13-0).

Beef's D Line dominated.

Beef's Offensive playcalls and game plan were superior (301 yards of offense)

Beef's Defensive playcalls were dramatically better (SCO held to 104.5 yards of offense).


No upset to be had in this one.

Inept is the word you are looking for.

Certainly a little more worried about Stoners than I was SCO. I knew I just had to score against SCO. Which meant a couple small changes in plays.
