Things are starting to shape up a little bit as there are now only 8 undefeated teams left and after this week there will only be a maximum of 6 undefeated teams. So let's get to it.

#1 Panty Obliterating Rectal Ninjas vs. #8 South End Vipers

I'd say this game is a tie for game of the week between the other battle of undefeated teams which I'll get into shortly. This matchup features the current best team in rookie with PORN bringing the most potent offense in rookie to the game while the Vipers bring a statistically stout defense that has forced 4 shutouts in 5 games. Not to be lost in the mix is PORNs Defense who has given up 21 points in 5 games and the Vipers offense who has a prolific passer. PORN seems nearly unstoppable at the moment given how badly they took it to the Simpsons last ladder game so until they lose or show serious flaws I simply can't pick against them. PORN wins 35-7

#2 Salary Cap Optimization vs. #4 I've STILL Never Had Sex

In what is the other game of the week we have two undefeated 100% rush teams facing off. Both teams have the two statistically best rushing offenses in rookie and they both have solid defenses. This is going to be a hard game to pick just based on the fact that they're fairly similar scheme-wise. If you have to point a gun to my head and force me to pick I'll take the Virgins just based on their S* firepower and their S* safeties ability to run down defenders on the outside. Virgins win 17-14.

#3 The Salty Runback vs. #13 D-town Blackshirts

Salty brings statistically one of the best defense just based on points allowed and D-town brings a good defense of their own. The main difference this game is salty has a good balanced offense while D-town's offense has struggled at times this season. That will end up being the difference. Salty takes it 21-3

#4 Arizona State Sun Devils vs. #13 Bloody Slaughterhouse

One of the most interesting matchup this week we have a S* heavy 100% run offense vs a S* heavy 100% pass offense. Bloody played probably the best 100% run offense so far in rookie in their last league game and lost a close one while Arizona's defense hasn't done them too many favors in some of their close wins albeit they still won. I'm picking Bloody to learn from their mistakes against Optimization and take this one in an upset. Bloody 20 Arizona 13

#6 Ashland Dockers vs. #19 Gliwice Lions

Undefeated Ashland brings a good passing offense up against Gliwicea pure run offense. Ashland has the least points allowed on defense through 5 games in rookie, though I think some of that has to do with their lack of good teams played up to this point. This will be a good test for Ashland and I think they'll pull through. Ashland takes it 20-14

#6 No Name vs. #10 Trenton Devils

No Name brings a good balanced offense with a solid defense and plays off against a mainly rush offense in Trenton with a decent defense although they have struggled on occasion. No Name is a relative no name to me (pun intended) so I can't make a solid prediction in this one so I'll say No Name wins to remain unbeaten. No name 21-9

#9 EEA 2.0vs. #28 Jebediah's Oblong Ball Club

The best 1 loss team plays against the underachieving Jeb's. EEA brings a good 100% rushing attack against a Jeb's team struggling on both sides of the ball. EEA wins 24-3

#10 USA American Pride Ballers vs. #23 San Diego Sperm Whales

The 2 QB attack of USA takes on the stout defense of San Diego. San Diego's downfall thus far has been some bad performances on offense in a couple games. I'll take San Diego to get their offense in order and pull the upset. San Diego 14-10

The last undefeated team gets to play GE and his zone defense. Not much info. on the Vipers except that they have a pass heavy offense with occasional running. Plenty of info. on GE's zone team though. Looked decent the first two games but lost a game they shouldn't have recently and pretty much showed they aren't the "best" defense in GLB2 rookie as GE has stated. I'll give Empire the benefit of the doubt here and pick an upset. Empire 13 Vipers 7

That zone defense has only given up 7 points in 3 games during regulation though. And that one TD was this crazy, 3rd down TD catch.

Fun Fact, I played Xars Pro team in the last ladder game, and now I play Xars rookie team. Additionally, I play both Stobie's Pro team and his Rookie team in the next league game.

Anyways, HAHA should be better next season than we are in rookie. Balanced offenses in rookie have a tough go at it here. Any little early SP you can get has to be spent well for an offense to even sort of function. Splitting SP between both run and pass puts us behind competition that can focus on one thing. At least for now it does, and that's what I'm gambling on with this team.

Seems a bit silly to me that you would split so early?

I disagree. I think balance offenses are the hardest to game plan. Also the pure rushing/passing teams' player builds haven't matured enough to be effective.

I mean it's mainly only a problem for TEs imo.

well at least the balanced teams can pass so they don't need to get frustrated about how hard running is

yes...but pure pass teams pass 10x better than balanced teams that pass

well still better then pure rush at passing and with running not being that good balanced is better

And its a hell of alot easier to gameplan against pure pass teams.

While what you guys say is true, its not just TE, the o-line at this stage is also harder to build. There are baseline attributes that need to be hit to not have them be a total liability for both the pass and the run.

Like the write up.

May I request that Arizona State be referred to as ASU and not ASSD? Just looks odd to me. lol

I disagree about the pass blocking. You can easily not touch that at all in rookie.
