My suggestion would be to go to the Hall of Fame and check out the linebackers at the Veteran level. See whose leading in sacks and how they're doing it. Except I don't know if last seasons stats are still up or not.

Another way is to ask your prospective defensive coordinator how he plans on pressuring the QB with his linebackers. An awesome build at one thing isn't good if the defense uses him a different way.

The conventional pressure blitz in GLB is ZEB, or Zero Edge Blitz. That's especially good at the rookie level, for that one, you want to focus on speed.

at rookie: pump nothing but speed (and conditioning).

be on a team that blitzes you a lot.
play bad competition
get lots and lots of sacks.

^Basically that. Huge speed and have a coordinator that calls blitzes and uses you exclusively in pass situations (because you'll get murdered in run ones).

Biggest problem is the lack of passing blitzes that a WLB (or RO) can take advantage of besides ZEB.

I wouldn't build one tbh.

Really? OLB blitzes, C1 Wide dogs etc...Also the new Tiger play. Completely disagree with you here

blitzing, meaning he wants sacks. C1 wide dogs is an outside run D play. Basically just ZEB

pursuit > sprinting for LB sacks imo

pursuit doesn't have anything to do with pathing on a pass rush.

And all the best pass blitzes are ROLB focused blitzes right now. At least in Veteran they are.

Shallow Sam Blitz has worked well for me. Stack your Blitzer on the corner and go to town. Or 3-4 OLB Blitz (both my Beers & Hostile standard/default play) to go at em from both sides.

Build-wise:
Speed (duh)
Snap Reaction (also, duh)
Intimidate (affect passes if you can't quite get there)
Pass Rush Tech (beating blockers - always good)

Also good:
Blitz Awareness (for those damn running plays )
Power Tackling (QB fumbles, also good)
Pass Rush Power (pancakes are good too I hear)

Depends on make up of the d-line. With the right d-line, 3-4 OLB Blitz or 3-3 OLB Fire work wonders, with a conventional d-line I don't like either of them.

64.5 & 51 sacks respectively on my 2 LBs... (the 64 was main Shallow Sam Blitz blitzer - which is why he's higher)

Also Shallow Sam Blitz is a 4-3, both the 3-4 OLB and 4-3 Shallow Sam Blitz function similar to a 5-2 man base. But I ran them instead of a 5-2 because I wanted to utilize Trash Talk LBs (prenerf ).

3-3 I felt left the middle too open for runs, but works too I guess.

I checked some of your plays last season and your d-line should be getting credit for those sacks. 3-4 OLB Blitz is really good if the d-line draws the attention of other blockers. If not, the LB's get stoned by the Guards.
