That is amazing and a very accurate comparison.

I'm now even more aware of how much of an underdog I am in tomorrows league Finals though.

Sometimes I forget it's even possible for a ball carrier to choose a path that goes backwards.

That's a journeyman RB against a veteran team too.

Pretty sure this is less about the back and more about it being a bug. Looks cool but it's a whomp.

The SAs firing takes him so far off his programmed pathing (should be to the strongside) and once they're threw it forces him to head back that way.

I thought Juke could change the preset play pathing?

It does, but there is still a natural gravitation towards the defined pathing. Think of it as a vector (because I'm 99.9% sure that it is, since this whole sim is rooted in legitimate mathz), where it takes more force to deviate from that vector. It's a pulling force that keeps the rusher moving in the direction it is flowing. A power rusher is going to follow that vector exactly. The north/south guy and working down towards elusive will all be able to deviate more and more from that vector based on incoming forces (defenders).

So in this case, the spin and the juke yank the rusher off of the pathing. The vector still affects him though, more or less pulling on him to head back towards the direction the vector is pulling him. Unfortunately it's not like once the someone is broken away from the vector that they are no longer affected by it.

Romo's probably right. It did seem odd at tick 75ish when he jukes that he elected to head back to the strong side instead of the clearly open field just to his left.

This thread is very illuminating and explains why ball carriers take the less open path a lot of the time.

I want a sim that can take this play to the left after the juke.

furthering the discussion about "forced" pathing on HBs, I submit Reggie's latest craziness.

Damn! Maybe forced pathing should be toned down a tiny bit.
