So its no sekret I house statistical information about games and such with my scout tool. In an effort to give back to the community, I can/will provide some high level statistics to give a general idea of the game and its meta/status for each season.

Question I would have is... what do you want? Build a request and a case for what it would give back/provide and I will work on something to run for this offseason.

Go...

Wish List

- QB Rollout Statistics across all levels.
- Stats per offensive/defensive play across all levels.
- Branch statistics by quartiles for scope tests.

As a basis for what you end up doing, I liked the study you did a while back where you had every offensive play by tier. For each play, you had some basic success measures, like average gain.

From that study, I didn't really care about big play percentage or whatever you called it. I would rather see a standard deviation on yards gained to see how variable a play it is.

I would also like to see sack/TFL percentage from pass/run plays. You would also need counts of times run in a season too obviously to see what is statistically significant. I'm not really sure what fumble/int rates by play does as I am not sure those are play dependent.

Also, if by tier is too much work or too much data, maybe just do Vet only or all of GLB2. I could see pros and cons to both.

Maybe a new major addition would be to list every defensive play and the same sort of stats. I know it probably makes more sense to match them to each offensive play, but that is a crazy amount of tables and small samples. Plus, you could tell a bit by seeing how defensive play 1 does against a pass or a run. If you want a bit more detail, maybe you could do inside or outside run, short pass (screens, etc.) or medium/long pass (legit downfield routes).

Would be good to see just generally which defenses are fundamentally OP and which are totally broken.

mhhhh. This is not completely true. It can be stopped pretty good by certain plays. The real problem is that the only plays who destroy this play open up the middle pretty bad. That results in like 7-10 ypc with inside GL runs (including OTs). That is the real problem, having some kind of mini game itself there...

So yeah...im all up for nefing/fixing or even deleting QB rollout outta GL. But it is still easily stoppable, just default Ds get wrecked up, whch is the reason rookie is the worst tier it gets exploited...New owners just dont know any better

Oh yes, also for pass plays, completion percentage as well as yard gain data.

Sure, there are a couple of plays that can mostly keep it contained, but I don't know any other plays that can consistently go for a TD against 90% of the playbook. Just looking at rookie tier this season, GL QB Rollout Strong goes for a big gain 40% of the time. Even at seasoned it is a big play 40% of the time and 42% at journeyman.

Perhaps prepare an end of season meta data report so that players & Bort-Corndog could see what the past season was like.

It might make adjustments easier to make if the global data was known.

If you do run this, I'd be interested to see it use your power ranker and group based on quartiles. Maybe even just try and get a more accurate depiction by removing the bottom 25% of teams (again using your power ranking).

Basically I want to see any and all stats with the crud quartile (or bottom two quartiles) removed.

I would still like to see a comparison or KL, PD and INT percentages for passing defenses across different tiers for season 8 and season 9.

- % of tackles by diving from each D position
- % of deflects by jumping from each D position
- % of catches by diving from TE
- % of catches by diving from WR
- % of catches by jumping from TE
- % of catches by jumping from WR

Can't do the defensive diving/jumping stats. Didn't capture special moves on defense, did capture special moves on offense for catch in a group called special catch (Diving/jumping)

With that said can't break it down by diving vs jumping but in general a special catch.

Side note, any way I can gain access to post the Ladder Schedule going forward so we can all see it regularly?
