Warrior General Games

Of course it is always fun in the forums lambasting each other, complaining that what other teams do is overpowered, trying to lobby nerfs, and picking on Galithor...but in reality -- what would the ideal parity be? I'm not sure - but thought I would check to see where we are with things. Reminder: 8 seasons in and there has never been an undefeated season.


Vet Ladder top 20 (probably as of yesterday)
1: Stunners 22-0
2: Air Raid 15-6
3: Harrisonburg 20-2
4: Salty 14-8
5: MMA 17-5
6: Stark 14-8
7: Ronin 14-8
8: QC 17-5
9: NY 9-12
10: RIF 16-6
11: Legacy 8-14
12: Run Defenders 11-11
13: INHS 21-1
14: MOD 10-12
15: Alaska 21-1
16: Dookie 7-15
17: Run GLB 20-2
18: DD2.0 19-2-1
19: Gatling 11-11

13 of 20 with winning records
3 of 20 at 500
4 of 20 with losing records

In reality though -- if the ladder is perfectly accurate - and there were no upsets - in theory the #13 team (as an example) would have losses against every team in front of it (so at least 12 losses)


Top Records:
Stunners: run
Harrisonburg: balanced (but slightly heavier pass imo)
DD 2.0: balanced but heavier pass?
Alaska: pass
Run GLB: balanced (?)
INHS: run


Seems like pretty solid parity at Vet to me -- how much more could there be?

(also - ya - the ladder formula still needs tweaking corndog)

If the k value picked up a little bit INHS, Alaska, Run GLB, and DD 2.0 would probably right now be right about where they need to be. Looking past the new Vet teams everyone else seems to be close to being appropriately placed. Air Raid probably could fall a spot or 2 but really they still have more quality wins than the rest of the top. RIF could probably raise up to 8ish. QCBC we have to remember took an entire season off and dropped themselves. They would probably be top 5-6 right now if they didn't do that.

I agree that this season has been a pretty good balance for run, pass and balanced teams. Probably as balanced as it has ever been really.

I thought about looking at rookie as well (or soph) since it is a contained level that would show parity within the tier or not -- but I don't know any of those teams

That's very arguable... I'm shocked we haven't leap-frogged Air Raid yet.

If I get around to it I can add something regarding rookie ladder ranks and offensive structures. It is pretty balanced there as well though with a decent amount of quality coached/managed teams. The next few seasons are going to be good for rookie tiers as well I believe as vet teams continue to reset.

We had a pretty big lead. Took what, 3 losses just for Minnesota to pass us? And you started 4th right?

Minnesota is moon league right now. QC might be that good at full chemistry. Will find out more about them in three days.

Everyone else is somewhere well below that at the moment.

I think if you would have lost to the Assassin's now and not back when they were outside the top 20 that would have helped. There is still time to correct the ranking with Air Raid still having to face Stunners and Assassins down the road. Granted you guys have QCBC and INHS down the road as well.

stunners vs air raid already happened this season -- I'll be surprised if it happens again.

oh you are correct my bad. They have QCBC in league.

I still believe Rookie and Sophemore is not that balanced. Take away GL plays.

Pass is just too easy. I know I said it before, but current Sophemore is a perfect example and also BSB wont be touched unless rng screws them. But yeah, it still never has been as good as this season. Just needs a lil nerf to base CiT rolls and we should be better in early tiers.

If we dont do sth this season, next seasons rookie will go insane.

As far as rushing nerf goes...remove both strong side GL plays and you will see what happens^^

BSB won't be touched? They won today only because of a missed FG and stopping a team from scoring from the 4 yard line. This was a 9-13-1 team as well.

I mean there has to be a couple teams good enough to take them down left on the ladder or even in league playoffs.
