Goal Line Package:
Cat Blitz 2 Roll (Blitz)
Short 1-2WR Pass/Run Zone Defense

Edge 2 Buzz (Blitz)
Medium 2-4WR Pass/Run Zone Defense

vs. Opp Goal Line AI:
Opp Goal Line Formation
Pass Short 20
Pass Med 80
Pass Long 0
Run Inside 0
Run Outside 0
Zone Pct 100
Blitz Pct 100

Result:
Cat Blitz called 48 times (84%)
Edge Blitz called 9 times (16%)

Shouldn't this be the other way around?

Goal line AI only applies to being in an actual goal line situation, not against goal line formation.

When a team uses goal line formations in other spots of the field, your tactics will be pulled from above. First down, Second Down, Third Down, etc.

The wording needs to be changed, so it doesn't say goal line formation anymore. I think they didn't anticipate people to use goal line formation all over the field. But just treat goal line formation like any other formation, all the tactics tie together. There is not formation specific tactics in this game.

Dope. Don't think I had ever used anything with the medium play description in GL prior to now and it ended up fucking me.

Thx

Not quite sure about that.

It says Goal Line Short Yardage, I think the tactic still triggers if it's 3rd/4th and very short no matter where you are on the field. But it's been at least 2 seasons since a team did GL Dives in very short yardage and I actually tried to use that tactic. So my memory is very fuzzy.

It's weird. The defensive tactics have so many other little things that could be added to help tremendously...yet it's got that setting, which almost no one ever plans for.

Tagging your own plays, more plays in general, and RZ AI would go a seriously long way in DC'ing.

Not only because it would make DC'ing better all around, but also tagging your own plays would help ease the absolute confusion people constantly have with the set up.

Trust me, I've tested it and use it all the time. Short yardage anywhere on the field besides goal line will pull from your 2nd and very short or 3rd and very short tactics.

4th down is a whole different animal and it's possible that the tactics are pulled from this, but I haven't tested it. 4th down go for its seem to be quite random.

Ok, I believe you.

Now what defines a Goalline situation? 3 yards to the end zone? 2? 1?

I believe it's similar to the offensive tactics, which makes it within the 3 yard line.

I never did the DCing in GLB1, so I'm not familiar with tagging.

It wouldn't be tagging like GLB1.

Tagging in GLB1 is tagging the players.

Tagging in GLB2 would just be tagging the plays as inside/outside/short/medium/long.

So redefining what they're currently listed as? That would certainly fix a lot of frustrating issues, such as separating run blitzes from pass blitzes.

On 2nd look, the GL tactic section may be totally useless.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/152062/1864920

I had middle overload as a defensive option against this formation, and 100 in the inside run box for goal line.
