I am hoping to have a battle of undefeated teams for sure. I have not been talking about not losing as I don't want to jinx it either. Pretty tough for a pure passing team in rookie ball IMO. It is just not very reliable yet. BSB has been managing to win and we usually have good yardage offensively but I did not anticipate being in the position we are currently in. The passing game only gets stronger every week. No matter what way you slice it I have had this game circled on the calendar since the league start up! Haha.

Marshall Spikes thinks the ball felt a little low on air when he picked off Skippy Wilkerson.......

uhm no...look last season. 4 100% passing teams dominated from start to end
Not saying its OP, but its not tougher for passing teams than for running teams. Just vs new owners with the GL spam. otherwise passing can be VERY strong, see last season^^
Still hope we will just win out next game and ee what happens in 2 days

I believe the changes made last offseason aided those pure passing teams a lot. Then the nerfs came for passing this season and it essentially made rookie passing very similar to how it was before. Last season was the golden season for starting a pure passing attack. BSB is still putting up fairly steady yardage totals but the scoring is very hit and miss at this point. I believe pure run still has a slight edge due to the natural morale drain throughout the game but passing is close to it in effectiveness in rookie ball. Either way we both need to take care of business in the ladder matchup. Saturday will hopefully be a fun watch. Hopefully it is a close game win or lose.

lol...its not like we pancaked anything in early rookie^^ Even now our pure run blocking WRs get knocked on their back almost as often as they knowck someone down. That is a thing that comes into play much later...
The one advantage passing teams have is not having to care about beeing scouted too much. I enjoy that with the Cobras^^

No doubt - props on building a passing team and winning. You have lived on the edge a couple of games and still have been pulling it off. I'll be damned if I can figure out how you're doing it. Razors are correct on the scouting...its too easy to see run right, run left, spread the offense and run up the middle. Stopping that aside - at least I was able to figure out how to mimic it and hence sort of slow it down (emphasis on "sort of")
Passing - well - my QB is a walking concussion with the number of sacks he takes....

just like in running, there are some passing plays that are worse than others. Especially in terms of sacks

In rookie ball the number of pass plays that limit sacks and are efficient are pretty limited. More plays become viable as time passes though.

I guess this was my learning curve for having never participated in the first half of a rookie season. I was thinking that passing efficiency came much easier last time I designed a rookie offense but I joined that team in progress, and avoided much of the early growing pains.
